I stayed in a junior suite - at a good rate, but still: being a member of Small Luxury Hotels (SLH) I expected more. The rooms were small, facing a noisy road without sound proof windows. The worst was the breakfast in a windowless room in the basement. Location is ok, but not totally central.

Thank you for taking time to write us a review. We are sorry that our hotel didn't meet your expectations and that our rooms with more than 35 sm were small for you. Our breakfast is served in the historical refoetory that there was before our hotel in the same building. This was one of the most famous monastery in...

This charming hotel is within walking distance to historical sites and shopping. The front desk personnel are professional and go out of their way to be helpful. In addition, the breakfasts are excellent. We highly recommend them and will return.

We booked this hotel last minute. It is in a great location and is a quaint hotel! Our room was very nice with a big comfy bed a smallish bathroom but very adequate. Breakfast was a lovely continental buffet with even smoked salmon and champagne!

Hotel is charming but needs sprucing up. Furniture is stained (see pic), AC doesn't work properly, shower head was broken (could not wash my hair), & room was stuffy & small, even by European standards. Toiletries and toilet paper were not replenished until we requested. Breakfast was stale (in the musty basement). I would not recommend. It was definitely not...

Room was very nice, attentive staff. We would stay here again. Centrally located. Room was a bit warm at night and faced busy street. Arrived late in the day but only a 10 minute walk from Duomo which we enjoyed seeing.

We can warmly recommend this wonderful, charming small luxury hotel which is so delightfully off the beaten track of most other hotels and chains! Brilliantly situated in the heart of the city on a walking distance of everything you want to see and shop! ... and so fortunately 'Un-American'! 😜

Thank you for your review! As you wrote, Milan has an excellent offer of hotels and most of them are part of international chains. We instead are a private hotel, where the hospitality is based on the genuineness and singularity of the people working here. We would be glad to be again your choice for your next stay in Milan!

The building is quaint, however tired and in need of renovation. My shower head was taped, yes taped in the junior suite that I was offered, perplexed that one would offer a guest a room with a taped shower head. Practically speaking it did present a challenge when having to shower, and the experience deteriorated rapidly post the conversation with...

Staying in Navigli

Neighbourhood Profile
Navigli
The Navigli is part of historic Milan. In the ancient days, the entire city was linked with canals, similar to Venice. Today, most of the canals are gone, but the Navigli remains a canal-based neighborhood. There are two major canals: Naviglio Pavese and Naviglio Grande. The Naviglio Grande's bridges greet visitors at dusk with an amazing view. The Navigli district specializes in clubs, cafes, and vintage shops. Lifestyle reigns supreme here. You can start the walk from the Colonne di San Lorenzo, an antique colonnade in front of the Basilica di San Lorenzo. During the daytime, this place acts as a meeting point for artists and students reading books or chatting with friends; the nights turn it into a stepping-stone for club hoppers. Science lovers will also relish the opportunity to visit the Science and Technology National Museum Leonardo Da Vinci, showcasing inventions of the Italian genius.
