The room was very comfortable, immaculately clean and breakfast with fresh croissant and extremely good hot coffee made our visit truly memorable. The chateau must be one of the most beatiful i9n France and is set in superb grounds overlooking field full of yearlings and brood mares.

I have just spent 4 superb days at the above chateau. The accommodation is of the very best and the owners could not have been more helpful in assisting with us in planning our days out as Normandy was unfamiliar to us. Breakfast was also quite superb with excellent local produce.

As B&Bs go, this is top shelf. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the beds are comfortable. It's located on large, beautiful grounds just outside the small village of Saint Maclou. It's a bit of a splurge, but a little luxury doesn't hurt now and again.

We booked a room on a last minute basis and announced beforehand that we may be arrriving late, after the booking was confirmed the owner immediately got in touch with us and we were able to discuss the arrangements for our late arrival in detail, perfect and most accomodating!! The Chateau is absolutely wonderful and extremely well equipped, it also...

This house is beautiful. Unfortunately, we arrived later than anticipated and very late in the evening at that (we had said 10 and didn't arrive until 10.45). I appreciate that that this was quite rude of us as this is a private house and not a hotel. The owners were perhaps unsurprisingly quite grumpy when we arrived. Nevertheless, the cool...

Guests are kindly asked to arrive between 5 & 7 p.m. We are flexible and bend over backwards to accommodate late arrivals. To turn up at 10:45 pm is inconsiderate. Checkout is 11 a.m, in order to give the housekeeper time to prepare the rooms for the next arrivals. I think you have answered your complaint in the first half...

We stayed here for a long weekend to tour the area. Our welcome made us feel immediately at home. The Chateau itself is beautiful and incredibly tastefully decorated in wonderful antiques and art. Everywhere was spotless and our room was beautiful with large windows which made it light and airy and wonderfully decorated . The bathroom was a fantastic size(...

My wife and I spent a romantic Valentine weekend in Normandy. We wanted to stay in a memorable location, not the normal, bland concrete hotel. The chateau fitted the bill perfectly! Not cheap but worth every Euro. A beautiful house decorated appropriately with taste and style. The English owners were most helpful and friendly. The breakfast is special in a...

A stay at Cheateau de Saint Maclou is both a wonderful and unique experience. The home is Grand and Unique in a setting that can only be described as stunning. Robin Gauge is the perfect host of the residence. I am yet to find a better host, or property available for an overnight, or weekly stay, with the history, and...

We loved this Chateau on every level! Have you ever had a chocolate croissant (or two) for breakfast in France? You have not lived till you have and Robin Gage our host made sure that we had fresh croissants daily during our stay. The Chateau is located in a small village, Maclou, in Normandy and therefore lends itself to wonderful...

Chateau de Saint Maclou la Campagne is a romantic and beautiful early 17th Century Chateau, located in the lush and verdant countryside of Upper Normandy. Set in magnificent grounds, this 400 year old stately home is steeped in history. The Chateau was first built as a hunting lodge in 1606, and then enlarged in 1661 in the reign of Louis XIV.
