We found this place by chance and we booked it just the evening before. Actually it has been a real pleasant surprise. A very beautiful location, a lovely house and a key differentiator: Francesco. A professional and friendly person who has made our stay very comfortable and lovely. We were offered for a dinner and when we learned about the menu, we were a little doubtful as it was a kind of a meeting point between Italy and Norway. Had been to Cascina Desderi a few years ago with Hagestad Touring on a Wine Tour in Italy. Then we were impressed by the cordial reception with wine tasting and delicious lunch and the possibility of swimming in the pool and the purchase of their good wines. This time we returned together with some friends for an overnight stay with dinner to be able to enjoy the hospitality a little more. We were accommodated in nice rooms and felt a bit luxurious as we could just walk out to the lovely pool directly from the room. From the very moment of arrival, we were very well taken care of by Francesco, who also made sure that everything worked perfectly throughout the evening. After a good night's sleep in comfortable beds and purchasing superb wines, we said goodby to definitely return to this gem in Piemonte! Arrivederci!…

We found this place by coincidence on Expedia, and decided to book. Perhaps one of the best decisions ever, and we have now found our go-to place in Italy. Everything was incredible, the check in experience, the room, the owner and especially the views. It is a little paradise where you wish time would just freeze. Only regret is that we didn’t stay longer, but that only means we need to come back. :)

When the Corona restrictions had been lifted, one of the very first places we wanted to visit – and return to – was Cascina Desderi. This spring we went back to Cascina Desderi, and discovered that the owners and hosts not only had survived the pandemic, but turned the place into an even better place. The owners had used the Corona years to improve the place, and this spring it was better than ever! The delicious dishes served by Francesco, the friendly comments and advice given by Roald – and Trond’s guided tour of the wine country, was better than ever. Excellent - he had obviously spent the days improving his manuscript. The tour in the spring was a happy return – now we plan to go back when they harvest the grapes later in September. We were a family of 8 . I had read and heard many positive comments about this Norwegian owned resort and it is a pleasure to report that there were no exaggerations.. Everything, from the driver who met us on arrival to farewell banquet was way above par: the rooms, the furnishings, the food and especially the service couldn't be bettered. Little touches of personal were especially appreciated, and all surrounded by the bountiful Piedmont countryside. To owners Trond and Roald, tusen takk for en fantastisk tur.

I have just returned from a visit to Cascina Desderi. And once again, what a pleasure it was. I have been visiting CD for years with my husband a couple of times a year and it is in a way like coming home, when we drive up the hill and see the yellow main house. What a view, nice pool area, lovely rooms and the food is just amazing. There are several, wonderful places to visit in the surroundings and a lot of nice restaurants too. However, why drive somewhere for dinner when 10 meters from your room is a beautiful setting with delicious food. I lived in Italy for several years, so I can tell what great Italian cuisine is. And you get it all at CD. The owners and Francesco are very professional and pleasant. We will be back. What a hidden gem!

Amazing place and fantastic food at MIchellin standard level- wonderful staff and owners, and the wine (and the food) is "to die for". Newly decorated rooms at the highest standard, with spaceous bathrooms and sleeping, large and spaceous out doors zones for relax and sunbathing, great service at all levels. Pleasant bar and lounge, excellent with no kids allowed, very quiet and relaxed atmosphere, is you are lucky to book sightseeing you are in for a big treat. Fantastic guiding all around the area including possible stops for local wines. I have been a guest here for the last 18 years possible 2-3 times a year- there is a reason why I come back and back and back. Can highly recommend this place if you like wood food and wine, and a relaxed international atmosphere.

If you book a low price on booking.com you risk to get the room for handicapped people which is not as nice as others. I compared them in the morning when rooms were made by housekeeping. When I compained when checking out I was told that the price I paid was low which is good as we are during Covid. I paid a normal price for a double room on booking.com so I had no idea about the normal price range and did not expect to get the room allocated which is for handicaped people. It‘s especially discriminating for handicaped people to get the darkest and smallest room which is below standard. It’s even more discrimating for all others such as us to see that the hotel prefers to give this room instead of an upgrade if you only pay for a normal double room. Especially if you have availability as they had during the time we were there. The hotel has to learn a lot about hospitality as they prefer to have an unhappy person than offering what you booked. We will never go there again. There are better alternatives in the region. See photos. Nothing to add.…
