This a beautifully authentic villa in a small village. I easily booked it on line on the day off arrival. The view was stunning from the swimming pool. If tou want to book a massage I think you have to book it in advance because if you do it on your day of arrival it is maybe not possible. We had a good lunch (small lunch menu) and diner ar night. The have a extensive wine list and they will let you taste anything you like. Very friendly staff. We slept in the new building and it was clean cosy and free use of minibar. We had an excellent stay in a beautiful environment!
Highly recommended! Everything is tip-top, great ambiance, beautiful rooms, superb meny, friendly and professional staff! Breathtaking views from outdoor dining / breakfast restaurant. Cool off in pool area.
Great hotel and location. The setting was spectacular... sitting by the pool watching the sunset over the hills with a glass of Barolo is a memory I will cherish forever. The staff was warm and extremely helpful - they helped us with last minute dinner reservations each night (during peak truffle season!) and always found us a delicious option. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and look forward to coming back.
We stayed here in July 2021 with our 3 year old son. the welcome was warm and friendly. They let us choose between two rooms according to our preferences. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast & dinner in the evenings was very good. Equiped to accomodate small children. Nice pool and the view from the garden/terrace is amazing. Very nice wine cellar. Would definitely go back!
Italian charming and old building settled on a nice hill with a beautiful view on the Piemont’s landscape. Everything was perfect. From the rooms to the service and food. The Manager and his staff are very nice, professional and always ready to answer our questions and help. I can only recommend this wonderful hotel perfectly sized and run by an excellent team. Congratulations and wishing you all the continued success you deserve!
If you just need one of those magical, forget about the world hidden gems - this is it. Tucked away in the hills with that home from home feeling the moment you walk in to the time you leave. A funky sauna to ease the stress and a the wine cellar where dreams come true!
So I went on this trip for business. I wanted to be off the trending path as I was looking for more authentic businesses similar to my own, (Bakery). The location is very close to the town of Asti and Torino. I would recommend that you take a car. BUT use the Train to travel to Torino and Milano. The location is great. I week for the last week of November. The resort closes down after this week. Opens again in April I believe. Staff was great and extremely helpful. You need to buy breakfast there each morning... so make sure that you eat... otherwise you are still paying. Because I was travelling for work, I was often late getting back for dinner service. most of the times, coming in when it was starting and sorry, but I like to relax before eating and clean-up.. so I can not comment on the food. They did accommodate me with a cheese, meat and bread plate when I needed something a couple of nights. It was good, so I can only assume the quality of their dinner service was high also. Lovely views from the room. On clear days you can see the Alps. Very clean room. Changed our towels regularly. And always made sure that we had coffee... lots of coffee. They really went out of their way. I forgot my Laptop power cord... And one of the staff bought in an extra from home. You can't beat great customer service.…
The Sunstar Hotel Piemonte is a quiet Hotel on a green hill between Asti and Alba. Already in the restored little old palace you feel the soul of the Piemonte region. All employees are here since many years. The help you to learn to know a lot about the Piemonte an to explore this beautiful region. Don't miss to eat in the Restaurant of the Hotel (the cook has wold class!).
We first visited this gem of a small renaissance castle in 2000, just after its opening as a hotel. Located in the heart of Piemonte and with a breathtaking view towards e.g. Barolo and Barbaresco, Sunstar Castello di Villa offers something extraordinary: an intimate luxury atmosphere coupled with a personal service seldom offered at reasonable prices. The staff treats each guest as a member of the Castello family. Headed by Swiss hotelier Mr. Peter Müller and supported by a young yet seasoned team - Irene & Eduardo in reception, Beppe (thanks for great food), Giuliana (my secret sommelier), Luca (the blue eyed Sicilian Viking), Daniela and Elena in the Al fresco restaurant you will be in safe hands and great company. Rooms are another story. However, I can recommend room 103, where we had our honeymoon back in 2000. But all rooms are fantastic, one having a Vivaldi theme: The four Seasons, painted in the ceiling above the bed. Felicia, Elena & Enrica are in charge of maintaining the rooms on a daily basis and thank you for being there for us. Castello di villa is perfect for most type of guests ranging from solo travelers to families. If you are lucky you may meet the original owner of Castello di Villa. Mr. Johnny Laager, a visionary Swiss businessman, acquired the ruins of the castle back in the nineties, invested a very significant amount to rebuild it to what is is today: a beautiful Piemontese estate. Mr. Laager sold Castello di Villa to Swiss hotel chain Sunstar back in 2010 and they have succesfully continued the hospitality philosophy of Mr. Laager, which is that everyone should feel at home, shoulders down, don't stress, enjoy good food & wine alas La Dolce Vita. So go check their website and discover this outstanding boutique hotel/castle in the middle of Piedmont. You will not be disappointed. We will visit another of Sunstars hotels in Zermatt next year in April and look forward to review this.…
We really liked this lovely boutique hotel - perched on a hill in a tiny village, it has beautiful, far reaching views of Tuscany. Our room was lovely, spacious and had a traditional Italian ‘grand house’ feel to it. Dinner is served on the little terrace adjacent to the pool and was delicious and really good value for money. It’s a hotel with personality and passion at a good price.
