Campiello Zen, located in Santa Croce, one of the quieter neighborhoods of Venice but still convenient to the train and bus stations and many of the major sites, provides a peaceful reprieve after a day of touring the beautiful city of Venice. Our host Andrea was very hospitable and helpful with ideas and suggestions about exploring Venice. His place, tastefully decorated, is clean and quiet. Upon waking every morning we were greeted with a his bright and cherry smile and offered a variety of fresh breakfast foods: espresso, cheeses, eggs, breads, meats, cereals and fruits to start our day. He then offered suggestions for interesting strolls featuring architectural and culturally stimulating opportunities as well as good restaurants that offered regional food of Venice. Andrea is very personable, he knows the city very well and has reliable suggestions for getting around, whether it be on foot or by public transportation. I would wholeheartedly recommend Campiello Zen.…
Awesome experience in Venice! Located in 10 minutes walking distance from Rialto, just a few steps from the Grand Canal and a ferry stop. Wonderful breakfast, very clean. Many thanks to the staff! The room is equipped with everything you need.
My daughter and I just celebrated her college graduation with 4 nights in Venice. She was worried about the tourist scene and wanted to stay in a B & B. A tour guide friend of ours recommended Campiello Zen and we had a delightful stay here. It is just off the Grand Canal in Santa Croce with a vaporetto stop nearby. It is in a quiet, not too touristy area, but very convenient to the train station and outstanding restaurants. We stayed in the Hibiscus room which had an incredible bathroom (by any standard)! Our room was very quiet and the daily breakfast was delicious. Andrea is a wonderful host! He gave great restaurant advice and helped us with reservations ahead of time. Communication with him was easy and timely. I hope we get to return to Venice and stay here again!
I have been a guest of Andrea and Susanna's wonderful B&B, Campiello Zen, half a dozen times over a number of years and I just returned home from a ten day stay. Andrea and Susanna are wonderful hosts and the nicest, sweetest couple. They go out of their way to be helpful, answer questions about their wonderful city, all with great patience and humor. Although some may feel that Campiello Zen is located away from the action, that is exactly one of the many reasons that makes it's very special to me. Just a few steps takes you to the vaperetto (water bus) that travels up and down the Canal Grande and very efficiently gets you to wherever you might want to go....couldn't be any easier or convenient. Campiello Zen is very close to the pleasant, family oriented Campo San Giacomo Dell 'Orio with a grocery store and a number of excellent restaurants. It's nice seeing local families catching up with their friends and neighbors and watching their children play. The accommodations are lovely, excellent continental breakfast and everything is spotless. There is even a very sweet house dog, little Pella. I wouldn't stay anywhere else when in Venice....I am away from mass tourism and I feel like I am with family in my second home.…
Excellent location, very cozy, quite a big room for Venetian standards. Breakfast very good. Andrea is always ready to attend/clarify any question. Negative points: neighbor on the upper level does a lot of noise. $$$
