We stayed at le Guglie BnB for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed our time. We had the upstairs room that had a balcony which was lovely. There was loads of space and Fabio is very funny and inviting. It was much cheaper then hotels we looked at in venice and to be honest I think we got a lot more... More

I stayed at Le Guglie some years ago and this time I brought two friends with me. Unfortunately there are no single rooms and so we shared the apartment which worked out very well. Fabio's mother was there to let us in and was so welcoming. We went straight out and were hardly in the rooms at all though we... More

I stayed at Le Guglie 6 nights, 29 July to 4 Aug 2013 as a single traveller, EUR80 per night booked direct with Fabio, the Owner. This was my 4th visit to Venice and I enjoyed it so much more keeping right away from Piazza San Marco and settling in around the Cannaregio district - basically one long street from... More

Found this on AirBnB and so glad we did. A short walk to the train station, a short walk to the Rialto, a water taxi stop in front, and a host that wanted nothing more but to make his guests happy and comfortable. Much more residential area, very quiet (but well lit) at night, and not too far to walk... More

Le Guglie is a fine B&B. The best thing about Le Guglie is the location just 10 min. from the train station, in an area next to the Jewish Ghetto, very easy to find. The Guglie is not fancy and the breakfast not great, but the room is clean and the bed is comfortable. The rooms have fridge, safe, TV,... More

This bnb was 10-15 minute walk from the train station and a few blocks off the main road right next to a big canal so it was extremely easy to find and convenient. The location is right in the Ghetto area which is mostly residential and less touristy. Fabio the host was very friendly and recommended great local places, and... More

We stayed here for 2 nights and found it to be perfect for our stay. Situated so close to transport and easy walk to the Rialto area, it was terrific. Fabio was very helpful especially with our luggage, nd recommended some fabulous restaurants for us to try. Room was spacious and even had a small balcony. We would stay again.... More

My husband and I stayed at Le Guglie B&B for three nights in early October. Our friend recommended that we stay here. She was right - it was perfect. Fabio was an amazing host. We could not have been more pleased with his hospitality. He was patient with all of our questions and was always there to help. Our room... More

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights in May. It was very close to the train station and there is a water taxi stop close by. We were on the latter end of our 3 1/2 week trip throughout Europe and were in Venice for 3 days/2 nights. Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
