Lobby was beautiful. Staff was stiff and not too willing to help you out. Check in cumbersom but rooms were elegant and updated. Location is within walking of many fine restaurants. Rooftop restaurant was good but overpriced for the slim number of offerings.
We arranged the pickup through the concierge from the railway station, perfect, the guide was on time and guided us to the private taxi, waiting for us outside the station. The trip to the hotel is an experience of its own, passing the beautiful venetian...More
I like this Hotel a lot. In fact, I've been there several times. I like the style, the details, the view, the magnificent atmosphere. Terrazza Danieli Restaurant was an amazing tasting experience. It has a special view over Venice, her lagoon, Palazzo Ducale and Grand...More
We were at the rooftop restaurant for a late lunch just before the kitchen closed in the afternoon. The restaurant was rather empty. The waiters couldn’t be bothered by all the pigeons flying around over the guests heads and walking around on the tables, fighting...More

Extremely poor value. All vegetables cold and poor selection overall and most deserts gone before 3pm and not replenished. Service stroppy, never their fault.
When finishing our coffee cigar smoker put on next table and immediately lit a very large smelly cigar - time to...More

Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a
strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.

I believe that there is a Deluxe Lagoon View Room, a Luxury Lagoon View Room and a Luxury Lagoon View Suite. Of those, I think the Luxury Lagoon would be the most expensive. Different rooms have different vantage points, and if you want the furnished balcony, that would be more. I am not sure if they are in the same palace buildings or not. I would call the hotel for specifics.
