Venice was the first leg of our Italian holiday. Its our first time in Venice. The room we booked was a Culture package from Accors website and it comes with the museum ticket for two and VIP treatment including welcome cocktail and breakfast included. We arrived at the hotel by water taxi from the airport which was a fantastic way to arrive in style whilst taking in the sites! The taxi drops you right at the door of the hotel so there were no worries about walking miles with luggage. First impressions were very good, the hotel foyer is beautiful with a piano and...

Stayed in august for some nights, friendly staff, rooms small but comfortable, convenient location at entrance to the city, one could wish the rooms a bit larger, but this is Venice! Compared to the larger hotels at the grand canal, not too expensive

This hotel is beautiful. The staff was friendly and very helpful and our room was charming. The buffet breakfast in their lovely restaraunt was a wonderful treat. We also had a fantastic dinner there. The hotel is exactly what one expects an Italian hotel to look and feel like. It was exactly what I hoped my hotel in Italy would...

Beautiful hotel and wonderful location near the train and bus stations. The staff was very courteous. The restaurant was great and the staff was the best. The bar was relaxing with newspapers and reading material available. The beds were a little stiff. I would definetly recommend this hotel.

Beautiful hotel located witihin walking distance to the train station and ideal if you are staying pre or post a cruise as it a short walk to the people mover. Staying in Santa Croce

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighbourhood identity.
