We had a lovely stay here myself and my wife! Friendly staff and lovely historic hotel, clean and tidy. Breakfast was nice. As everyone is saying hard to find at first but didn't take long to find our way around. The best city ever visited truly remarkable. 👍🏽 going away with amazing memory's we will never forget ❤️

My partner and I travelled to Venice from St. Moritz Switzerland. Due to the long commute and struggle to find the hotel in the dark we checked in late around 10:30pm. Upon arrival the man on reception appeared more interested in the computer screen that he was watching the football on then checking us in. He took our passports and...

The hotel is advisable and very well-located, at 5 minutes from Rialto bridge. Is a typical venezian building from another era with beautiful decoration. Great views of Grand Canal from the hall and our room. Incredible moment when I went out the building at night and stayed at the dock's hotel looking at the lights of the city and the...

Lovely hotel. Lots of great history and architecture. Right on the Grand Canal. Very nice breakfast. Deep soaker tub in bathroom. Location is very hard to find - but this is the case with every place in Venice. We got very lost looking for the hotel at night but people in Venice are happy to help you. Don't expect this...

This is a most beautiful Venice hotel. We had the Grande Canal luxury room with exquisite views. The hotel has a lovely ambience and great staff. We loved the breakfast room and the lovely food. The location is great. Would thoroughly recommend.

An old beautiful hotel on the grand canal. Close to the boat stop and a few minutes walk from the main sights yet quiet and discreet. We had the room at the top of the hotel (in the picture on trip advisor) with 2 windows overlooking the grand canal. Clean, quiet and comfortable, this room is very large and spacious....

Gorgeous traditional hotel right on the Grand Canal. Very clean & large Venetian historic rooms. Our room was on the ground floor overlooking the canal, was beautiful. Wonderful quiet area in walking distance to all main attractions. Very easy to get lost, but thats the fun of Venice. Breakfast was crowded & as we were late risers, not much to...

Loved our stay here & the history of the place. Our room was directly looking out on to the Grand Canal. The hotel is central to either end of Venice & a short walk to Rialto Bridge. Had no trouble arriving from the airport & the vaparetto stop was close by. Venice is not a huge place & it's easy...

Oh my gosh... Like in the movies... When the music suddenly comes from nowhere at the appropriate moment; in this hotel I sat in the window looking over the Grand Canal and suddenly a soprano started to sing "O Mio bambino Caro" How does that happen? This is a charming and romantic hotel of antiquated Venetian splendor with very obliging...

Old style hotel in the Venice tradition. Very clean and quiet with large rooms. We had a Grand Canal view and it was unbelievable! Close to water taxi station (you still have to cross a few bridges with luggage but not bad). Internet worked great. Staff was very nice and they offer luggage storage. Hotel also has downstairs bar on...

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
