I took my family on vacation and stayed at Ca' Favretto for our two nights in Venice. My brother-in-law and his family came from Prague and stayed there as well. We had two nice sized family rooms that each fit our families of four. Overall, it was a very nice experience. The hotel was clean, well maintained and provided a...

My boyfriend and I visited this hotel in December last year. Our stay there was fabulous. Great neighborhood. Beautiful views of the water strip from the breakfast room and a very big and delicious breakfast. Would def come back. Amazing time there.

I guess what stops me from rating this as "very good" is that other hotels in the area by St. Mark's looked more updated and nicer. That said, I really enjoyed this location in San Croce because it was a bit away from all the tourism. I was amazed by age of this place--700 years old, I think. Traditional Old...

Venice was a magical experience, made even more so by our stay a Ca'Favretto. We took a water taxi from the Venice Airport to the front door of the hotel. Welcoming and helpful staff, amazing 600 year old former home of a Venetian noble family. The property has been a hotel since 1951, with a tasteful mix of modern retro-fitted...

we just returned from a fabulous 4-night stay at this hotel. unfortunately, we were initially placed in a room on the bottom floor that was suffocating and uncomfortable, to say the least. it was musky and moldy and poorly ventilated. fortunately, the staff (giovanni is the best) was able to move us for the remaining three nights of our stay...

What to say......I just loved it. The building is full of character, and I liked the effort of trying to remember how to find my way there. BreaKfast was good, nice and relaxed. Room was good with too good air conditioning (we had to switch off). Loved the little terraces for having a drink or if you can get one...

I stayed in San Cassiano in February during Venice Carnival for a weekend, and I have to say it was a great stay. Hotel was proper venetian, very clean, and staff were very helpful. It was difficult to find at the beginning but isn't it the case with everything in Venice! Breakfast was average, pastries and cold meat but good...

This hotel is in a horrible location, impossible to find on foot!! We took a water taxi Which is strongly suggested, cost is about $60. The rooms are very nice, breakfast only average Don't bother staying there unless you get a room with a view of the canal. The location is loud, touristy and insultingly expensive. Do your home work...

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
