Friendly staff, great location close to St. Marks' Square, beautiful lobby, and well-appointed rooms. So glad we stayed here on our Tauck tour. We were so exhausted upon arrival from a terrible flight situation and the staff were so accommodating to us. Very grateful at the time and I now realize how wonderful the entire experience at the property truly...

This is an amazing hotel - the location is perfect, close to St. Marks Square but very peaceful. Our room overlooked a canal and we were woken magically each morning by the chattering of gondoliers. The room was perfect - stylish and very clean with all the amenities of a luxury hotel. We dined in the hotel on Valentine's night...

My mother, sister and I took a girls trip to Italy and we booked this hotel sight unseen but based on reviews, photos, etc., and this hotel far exceeded our expectations. This hotel was just OUTSTANDING ! We opted for a Jr Suite, but well worth it. What spectacular service and awesome location. This is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed. The room was spacious, comfortable and beautiful. The dining, especially the breakfast offering was very broad - everything you could imagine. A definite "must stay" on our...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
