Hotel was fair. Clean but not 4 star as advertised.
The restaurant recommended to us by the front desk gave us exceptionally poor service and clearly were benefiting from recommendations from our hotel. We didn't bother going to any of the other places they recommended...More
First trip to Venice, we chose a brilliant hotel in a great location, so near to St. Mark's Square and near to plenty of eating places. We walked everywhere so it was lovely to come back to the hotel for a little rest before going...More
My family and I enjoyed this lovely traditional Venetian hotel, which fronts on a canal. We arrived by water taxi from the airport to the hotel's dock - a highlight for my kids. We had a wonderful view of the Bridge of Sighs from our...More

Staff arranged free day trips which were unexpected but really nice. We loved our room, the entire staff, and the cleanliness of the hotel and our room. The breakfast staff was efficient and very pleasant... and the food started the day off well. fantastico

The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and
Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

We didn't drive. We caught a water taxi from the cruise ship to the hotel and took one back to the airport. If you are light on luggage you can walk from the water taxi drop off thru the Square to the hotel. Don't pay a guy to take your luggage there from the water taxi area. It's only a 5-8 minute walk. We used an app to walk there. Have fun

The hotel are very helpful if you contact them but we used the water bus Alilaguna from the airport to St marks square and the hotel provided information which gave clear directions from there to the hotel which was only 10 mins away if that. It was much much cheaper than private taxi although probably quite a bit longer but a lovely relaxing way to arrive .Going back we worried in case it was full and we might not be able get to the airport on time but we had no problems. ( We made sure to catch an early boat just in case) You find directions in the airport to the water bus and taxes and can pay for your tickets there at the dock its very easy to use and runs regularly.
