This is a great hotel on a budget. It has a wonderful staff, very helpful, considerate, polite, etc. We got a superior room, man it was awesome! It was really huge by any standards, for just a few dollars more. We didn't experience the issues from other reviews as the superior rooms had an elevator. I have absolutely no complaints...

Seriously, at 300 Euros a night, dont bother... They rate themselves a 3 star on their official website, We wouldnt give them 1 star. The website says all rooms have : Safe, mini bar, airconditioning. Our room had NO safe, NO mini bar and the airconditioning didnt work. Although the room was clean, it had literally nothing in it. I...

Upon returning from a fabulous cruise, my husband, my sister, her boyfriend, and I spent one night at this establishment. We got there early in the morning, and as check in was not until 2:00 pm, we checked our luggage with the front desk and agreed to return later. The staff was quite friendly at this point, taking our eight...

The hotel is newly renovated and the rooms are very nice and the bathrooms very clean and fresh looking. The room had a safe, refrigerator, and TV. However, you have to walk up stairs to get to your room, in our case it was 5 flights of stairs I would not have minded but the air conditioning did not work...

Just came back from Venice. Cracking little Hotel to see all the sights. I met all the staff and they were polite and helpful. We had a lovely stay, in nice clean warm comfortable rooms. I can understand the yank visitors not liking small rooms, as they have no understanding of the type of properties available in Venice, or ant...

Having read the reviews below, I'm surprised we experienced the same hotel! Like some other travellers, we were transferred here two days before our holiday due to an overbooking at our original hotel. We were placed in superior room 3 - very nicely decorated, looked to be recently refurbished. Although the room was decorated in dark colours, it was very...

Every time you needed some help, seemed you were asking for a personal favor. Room was EXTREMELY small, seriously, you didnt have 1 foot of space between beds. None of the outlets worked and even if it was reported, never got taken care of. Breakfast is EXCELLENT, that must be said. I think their problem is they need to train...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
