Venice was an amazing and meaningful experience for me with so many beautiful places to visit and hotel Vivaldi was one of them. Situated right in San Marco piazza with gorgeous rooms, tastefully decorated and great staff, locanda Vivaldi is a place to consider if you are looking for the full Venice experience.

Whenever we visit Venice there is only one hotel we prefer and that is Locanda Vivaldi Reasonable price for high quality of accommodation/service and hygiene. Also the breakfast is perfect, with great choice. With its beautiful view over the Lagoon and the scenery of the daily activities passing by it makes my stay in Venice unforgettable.

My wife and I spent four nights in a superior room looking over St Mark's Basin to San Giorgio Maggiore church. The room was adequately large, but not huge, sumptuously decorated and furnished with antique-looking furniture: well above an average standard. Heating was very efficient indeed, and it was very warm even though early in February. We needed the warmth...

It was such a wonderful experience to stay here! We were there in the winter, so I didn't want to have to travel too far for the sites as it's very cold. The location was great: close enough to the sites, but not loud! Our room had a gorgeous view, which was a plus. The breakfast was just perfect and...

We overnight at Locanda Vivaldi last December and it has been a very pleasant stay. We got a Canal grande view room , pity we have been given a room ant the first floor, having a bridge just in front of the Windows we couldn't enjoy the view with the curtains open or we would have been seen from all...

The hotel has a perfect location within Venice - where you have to say that nearly every place in Venice is perfect. But this is just some minutes away from the central place St. Marco. Additionally, the hotel is directly on the seaside, means if you pay more you can have a room with direct view to the sea and...

This hotel is situated exactly where you need to be to tour all the major sights on the Grand Canal. St. Mark's Square and the Doge are a short stroll away. We arrived by private water taxi to the hotel's private water entrance. It was so lovely, a brick walkway surrounded by lovely plants and a darling little subterranean bar...

We have stayed before and love the hotel. Room 102 has a balcony you can stand on overlooking the lagoon. It's a classic style and spotless. Breakfast is good although each morning the cooked food was tepid and toast impossible, we relented on our final morning so asked for something to be cooked HOT! Only one server so the poor...

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
