Beautiful hotel in a great location right in the center of Venice. Great for families with suites that are hard to find in Europe. Staff was friendly and helpful. Short walk (100-200 feet) to the water taxi stop. Would defiantly stay here again.

We stayed in this hotel for one night while visiting Venice. It was a pretty nice hotel in a central location (I think). Venice is a maze of streets so, while it may have taken us a long time to find places, I think it was just because we got lost a lot! The room was a decent size with...

Family stayed in two rooms, Classic and Deluxe. Very well decorated rooms. Very good sized and modern bathrooms. Location was great for all the sites in Venice. Easy walk (even with luggage) to Casa D'Oro vaporetto stop. Also close to Foundamente Nuovo stop to explore some of the outer islands. Breakfast was very good. Even included eggs and bacon which...

In general we enjoyed our stay at the Giorgione. It is well located, arrive from Marco Polo on the Alilaguna blue line to Fondamente Nove then a 10 minute walk wheezing over a couple of small bridges and you're there. It was possible to walk comfortably to all the main attractions in Venice and back to Fondamente Nove for a...

This hotel is in a good all round location, easy 5 min walk from the Blue line Alilaguna (airport water bus ) Fondamenta Nuove stop and a similar distance to Rialto bridge, with St Mark's square about 15-20 mins walk. Not being on a canal has the benefit of being in a quiet area, as we weren't disturbed by external...

The staff were excellent and were happy to go the extra mile to meet our needs, making us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we entered the hotel, and throughout the whole stay. The rooms are all unique, tasteful and beautiful. Location was great, halfway between Rialto and St Marks. I would definitely stay here again.

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
