The hotel is located literally 2 minutes walk from the train station and about 10 minutes walk from the main bus station (P. Romale). Their website provides a useful location map and the hotel is not difficult to find although down a rather narrow side...More
When booking a last minute trip to Venice we came across this hotel on the priceline-europe.com website. Since we have two small kids we wanted beds to sleep all four of us, not just one big bed that we'd all cram into. They aren't big...More
Stayed with our 2 boys aged 13 & 8 all in one room so was a little squashed but expected that of most Venice hotels. Decor dated & no view from room. Location was excellent as we were traveling through Italy by train. Grand Canal...More

Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby
shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.

all the rooms has private ensuite bathroom except one, but you simply have to indicate you do not want ( or want because it's cheaper ) the external bathroom room. In any case it's not to be shared but exclusive use only.

I'm not sure about early check in. We dropped our luggage off on the 2nd floor. ( no elevator) It's basically some shelving behind a curtain. It is not secure but we had no troubles. We took all of our valuables of course. We also made sure that our luggage was locked. It didn't prevent someone from taking the whole bag but just kept someone from going through it.
