We could not fault the hotel at all, perfect location, wonderful staff, excellent breakfast. The reception staff went out of their way to be helpful. Our bedroom was amazing a lower level with a couch and the bed was on a mezzanine level above

After staying here many times since the 1980's we thought this wonderful hotel could not get better but each year it does. Our compliments to this extremely well run establishment. The staff is very helpful, the rooms have every comfort, and the location is perfect. That is why we stay there every year.

Great location around the corner from San Marco. Staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast served had a great selection to start your day in Venice. Only downside was the room was extremely hot and you couldn't adjust the heating due to pre-set heating settings over winter and the shower over bath had a small screen which meant water spilt...

It is a very cozy place and the staff is soooo kind and helpful. We did not enjoy the food much. Its very local. In the middle of shopping. Wine is very good but the food isn't much what I expected. Come for a drink

When you visit a city as glorious and unique as Venice you don't want to skimp on accommodation. The Saturnian & International is befitting of its spectacular location and delights in many ways. It's easy to find from either the Giglio or San Marco water stops. A 7/8 minute walk from each. The Staff are excellent, from the pleasant and...

This hotel is ideally place for St Marks Square, however there are many more wonderful places to see in Venice so be prepare to,walk a fair bit. The rear of the hotel overlooks a canal so if you, want to be woken by a singing gondolier, ask for one of those. Our room was comfortable and large, but a bit dark...

This century-old hotel located in a modernize shopping street and by the canal. It's so easy to get around the major attractions from the hotel. We took a private water taxi to the hotel. The water taxi dropped us off at the rear of the hotel. It was extremely convenience and stylish. We booked a triple room. The room was...

We needed to stay over in Venice a couple of extra days(sick mother) so we were moved from their other location. Staff was extremely helpful with a sick traveler. Found a 24 hr. Pharmacy for us and could not have been nicer. Andrea, what a great guy. He was so helpful and showed genuine concern for our mother. Thanks Andrea!!...

Recently spent a weekend in this hotel while staying in Venice. Great location, within easy reach of all the main sights. Room comfortable, breakfast lots of options, staff really friendly and helpful. Arranged a private water taxi to Morano for free really interesting, expected a big sales pitch but did not come really interesting morning out. Would certainly recommend. 1st...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

“When we take a City Break we want a clean comfortable and reasonably spacious bedroom and a good bathroom other than that we go to take in the sites and culture so are not bothered by the aspect of the room. Just in case you like a room with a view however be aware that most hotels in Venice have only a view of rooftops or the other side of the street. ”
