The tre-Arche was good value, and located right next to a water-bus stop which was great for getting round Venice using the 3 day pass for the boats. Breakfast was a little disappointing with no fresh fruit, but adequuate with rolls cheeses jams cereals tea/coffee etc. The rooms were lovely with really high ceilings and the room we had overlooked...

Likes- good location. near the water bus.. interesting room with super high ceilings.. close walk to restaurants..not hard to find which is a real bonus if youre dragging your suitcase around Venice. Probably took us about 20 min from the train station.. 5 min from the the water bus that takes you to the airport, and yes there is another...

This hotel was located right by the Tre Archi water bus station. While I enjoyed my adventures around the city, the hotel was lacking in many ways. Pros - the rooms were seemingly soundproof. We were in room 102, directly behind the front desk and windows on the street level and still, it was very quiet. The room was very...

The hotel Tre Archi is a lovely old fashioned hotel on a smaller canal in Venice. There are 2 vaporetto stops very close to the hotel which makes it weasy to get anywhere in Venice. The hotel has no elevator which made reaching our 3rd floor room good exercise. Once we got there, we had a great canal view. The...

We stayed in mid July here and the hotel was a huge disappointment. Overpriced, the junior suite was a small one room arrangement with a loft. The canal view was poor, and windows small. Level of cleanliness poor, and service tepid. Breakfast was small, with very poor coffee from a machine, in Italy! Overall, a poor show, and will never...

The Tre Archi is a three star hotel. It is a good establishment, a bit overpriced, especially if you stay over the weekend, and old fashioned (no wi-fi or lifts and poor toiletries) but it is clean, quiet and charming and the location is lovely, It's on the Fondamenta Di Cannaregio, reasonably close to the station and the Grand Canal....

Having just escaped this hotel two days early I thought I would warn others before they make the same mistake I did. Granted, it wasn't the worst hotel I have ever stayed in but it was close. Here is what I found: Unfriendly staff, no elevator(the poor little maid saw me struggling and helped me with my suitcase. The reception...

The staff was not helpful and very unfriendly. The rooms could be really nice, but they are not kept up. The bathroom was a good size but there was a lot of mold in the shower. There is not elevator which was ok for us but my husband had to help some older people with their luggage. Also, can't get...

The location of the hotel is excellent, if you are traveling by the water bus, as the stop of the water bus is right across the hotel. The staff is not friendly, the rooms are pretty small and are stuffy. It gets quite warm and they don't have fans.. The breakfast served is nothing great..the overall experience isn't great. Avoid...

It's really too bad that this hotel has it's pitfalls, because the hotel it's self is so flamboyant when you get in there, that you get super excited about your stay. It's definitely not the worst hotel in the world--like I said, the rooms looked really cool. Like sleeping in a doll house, bright pink with flowers and crystal chandeliers...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
