I booked this hotel through Hotels.com and wrote a note that I want a king size or a double bed. Later I send email to Daria( very helpful receptionist) and she told me that she will try her best. But unfortunately the day we arrived she was not at office. A young fella was there who is totally helpless. he...

I am giving this hotel an excellent review because for the price range it is above and beyond. Every staff member that we encountered as friendly and beyond accommodating. Some of the best customer service I have ever seen! Me and my boyfriend stayed for 2 nights, and had a room that had 2 twin beds together and a private...

We stayed here prior to leaving on a cruise. A perfect location, equal distance walk to San Marco or Rialto. This is no cookie cutter, modern chain hotel - unique, renovated building, that is comfortable - air conditioned, plenty of hot water for showers - with nice, well maintained and decorated and clean rooms and attractive art work in all...

The location of this hotel couldn't be better! About a three minute walk to St. Mark's Square in one direction and the Rialto bridge in the other direction. The front desk service is so very friendly and open 24hrs. Also, the wifi is free and they have an excellent complimentary buffet breakfast. Would definitely stay here again!

Lovely hotel great location to explore Venice. Basic rooms but big and adequate. Breakfast was a great way to start your day. Friendly helpful staff. We found the hotel with no problem. Would recommend to others. Enjoyed a lovely gondola ride for €80 for 30 minutes but was just me and my husband. Would recommend booking on advance the secret...

My stay at Serenissima for 3 days have been lovely, and waking up to the sound of bells ringing from a distance was magical. Except for a waitress who was rude to me at breakfast. She was probably stressed out but I still can't believe she yelled at me in front of everyone. The single bed room is nice and...

Fair Notice -- this is a two-star hotel. The rooms are small, but clean. There are steps to get to the room. If you're still considering the hotel after reading this -- then my advice is stay here. It's a great place. It is centrally located, between San Marco and Rialto Bridge. It is easy to find (well, as easy...

Stayed here a few times over the years. Was keen to back as it had been some time! still as nice as I remember. the location is very excellent. Just a few minutes from St Marks square but not crowded. Hotel is I think family run. Hotel rates are fantastic, particularly as the hotel is very nicely presented and taking...

We stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel and our room was neat but very small, also the floor in our room was slanted. However, the management staff was very friendly and helpful and breakfast was the best that we had in Italy. The hotel is situated very near to all the big tourist attractions so it is small walk...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
