We stayed in the hotel with approximately 12 others in our group.. The Hotel is in the heart of Venice.. Small rooms but very well kept by the owner and his family.. Breakfast in the morning and you came and went as you pleased always leaving your room key when you left and picking it up on your return.. We...

We arrived around two hours before check in time after a short walk from the riverbus and were given a room in the annex straight away by the receptionist, who spoke good English. The room, a double with en-suite, was fine and the continental breakfast (in the main hotel, served until 10:00) was adequate.

The hotel is decent, its in a small narrow alleyway sort of hard to find as reception was weak in those areas. The hotel room itself was very outdated. I found the shower extremely small and difficult to navigate in. Its in a great location though, walkable to rialto bridge, grand canal and around a lot of great restaurants. Also...

Staff were lovely and very helpful. Speak multiple languages very well. We had a room in the annex that was large, clean and comfortable. Very good wifi. We left early and did not have breakfast but it looked like a reasonable continental breakfast. The walk from the train station is about 20 minutes. Easy to find. There is a supermarket...

This was a wonderfully clean and authentic Venice hotel. They placed us in the annex building and we very much enjoyed our room. We had a private bathroom - which we were pleased. Breakfast was just ok but we were so close to wonderful eateries it was not an issue at all. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel....

Stayed for 4 nights in Sept 2016 as a couple. Room was fine and what we expected. Our room was very loud and we were woken by the cleaners going about their work every morning at 8am- not a massive problem for us but some people may not like this. The walls are also paper thin but the hotel was...

We paid 102 Euros for 1 night at this hotel, which is cheap compared to what the other hotels in Venice charge, given the location. The breakfast was good, however, the lady at the counter was the most helpful we encountered in Europe. She told us exactly where to eat, and gave us tips on getting to the airport. We...

This hotel is very basic but great value. It's located down a little side street, but is about a 10 minute walk from all the key sights in Venice and located very close to the Cal D'ore waterbus stop. The hotel is very quaint and old fashioned but absolutely charming. The lady on the reception was incredibly friendly and welcoming...

We found this hotel to be just fine! It was located down a typical Venetian back street but very close to the bustling main street of Strada Nova. We stayed in the Annex which certainly had a homely feeling (I think the owners live upstairs!) and had a canal view if you stuck your head out of the window! The...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
