I have been meaning to write a review of Hotel Flora for quite a while. I stayed at Flora in early April 2015. I booked it based upon the recommendations by a number of acquaintances and it did not disappoint. If you were paying for charm Flora would be the most expensive hotel in Venice. It is located down a...

My family of four (2 adults and two kids ages 10 and 12) stayed here in late November. The hotel is in a great location and a very quick walk from two vaporetto stops. You can be in St. Mark's Square in 5 minutes. You will be hard pressed to find a better location. The hotel staff was very friendly...

Lovely hotel in the heart of Venice. Very attentive staff & a fabulous breakfast room. The pastries are made on site and are delicious. Comfy beds. Quiet, yet minutes walking distance from the Grand Canal, the water bus and Piazza San Marco. We would definitely return! Excellent value!

Stayed here for 3 nights at the end of November 2016. Great location. Fantastic breakfasts. Nice staff. Rooms are a bit small and bathroom tiny but functional. We had a problem with how hot the room was. We asked if it could be turned down at reception but they were unable. Stuck at 26.5 degrees in the bedroom with a...

The Hotel Flora is an absolutely wonderful boutique hotel in Venice. It is located close to SAN Marco square so you are very well located. The gardens are very special. The breakfast is amazing....all delicious, homemade delicacies. What makes Hotel Flora extra special is the over the top staff. Giovanni was always at the front desk prepared to help us...

Spent three nights at Hotel Flora after our stint in Rome. The hotel is quite close to the San Marco vaporetto stop, just down a little side alley from the main shopping district, and for all that it's surrounded by Prada, Armani, Gucci, and other luxury stores, it was very reasonably priced. Our room was furnished with a massive antique...

Great location, great staff, outstanding breakfast. A very convenient hotel very well located near San Marco. I would certainly return. The only detail was that the heating was a little too hot for my preference... but opening the window did the trick for me.

Beautiful Boutique Hotel in great location. We stayed in Family Suite which consisted of a room with twin beds and a bath and a room with a double bed and bath with added small bed. The double room with added bed was lovely but too crowded. Both baths were very nice but the shower in one with a tub was...

Hotel Flora is well-located, charming, accommodating, reasonably priced, and welcoming. The staff couldn't have been nicer. Our room was classically decorated and adequately sized. The only negative is the minimal counter-space in the bathroom and the smallish shower. Not enough to issues to lower our recommendation.

Beautiful hotel tucked away off the tourist trail. Hotel feels like the Venice in the 50s, textured walls, old furniture, and lovely staff. Rooms are basic but absolutely adequate, clean and great value considering the high costs of Venice. Loved the staff and enjoyed the very comfortable and welcoming lounge area where we consumed numerous wines and crisps, Thank you...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
