This boutique hotel is full of character and situated not far from St. Marks Square. The staff is warm and extremely helpful. There is a cozy sitting room, outside garden and nice breakfast. This is a sister hotel to Novecento a short distance away. You can feel the effort the family owners have put into this hotel to make everyone's...

We always stay at this medium-sized hotel when we travel to Venice. It's close to St Mark's Square, the rooms are comfortable and very clean. Breakfast is served in the garden which is delightful. The management is very experienced and helpful.

Lovely welcome to weary travelers. Tucked away down an alley (without a good google map you might walk by it), it's charming, peaceful and what you imagine a boutique hotel to be. Yummy breakfast and if the weather is nice, in a charming courtyard. Reception desk is very helpful & gave a wonderful restaurant recommendation. Would definitely return there if...

This was my favorite hotel we stayed at during our Italy trip. We booked the smallest of the rooms and it was comfortable for two people. The location and charm was fantastic. It had a beautiful old European feel with a courtyard in the middle that was very quiet and relaxing. Room service was fantastic and everything in the room...

From the moment that you walk into your room & find heart shaped chocolates on your pillows that are monogrammed with the saying "Enjoy & Relax", you know you chose the right hotel. The staff is extremely friendly & very attentive. The rooms are true to the style that the hotel was built, but they are all updated & bathrooms...

Chose this hotel as a referral from a friend who had stayed there recently. We were not disappointed. The location is the best in the heart of it all and only steps from the water taxi. This tiny boutique hotel offered a great breakfast each morning and cocktails and snacks at the end of our day. They also have an...

Beautiful rooms and setting......some of the largest, more luxurious Rooms that we've had in Italy. Great location: easy access to the historic center, yet perfectly quiet and peaceful. Highly recommend.

Conveniently located down a quiet alley near St Mark's Square and the Grand Canal. Snagged a good, nonrefundable rate through AGODA online booking. Professional, helpful staff. Small, but comfortable room. Reliable, included Wi-Fi. Good included breakfast with inside or charming courtyard dining. Elevator. We would definitely stay here again.

This is a lovely hotel with loads of character in keeping with beautiful Venice. The room I stayed in was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was plentiful with lots of variety, with a beautiful garden setting; the staff were friendly and helpful; the location of the hotel was convenient to all the major attractions but tucked away in a quiet...

This small hotel is simply lovely. We booked a larger room with a view of a villa and a church dome across the Grand canal. The service is impeccable and the full breakfast served with fabulous cappuccino and delicious Panna cotta is wonderful. You will feel pampered here and really enjoy your stay.

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

“You should ask about the shower - our first room had a bathroom that was 3 steps down and a shower in a tub that didn't allow my husband to stand up. They happily switched our room. ”
