A lovely hotel with gorgeous rooms and a floating deck where breakfast is served - an atmospheric venue for Venice.

After the great reviews about this pension we were thankful to get a reservation but on arriving we found the staff aloof and distant-in fact not interested, the only enthusiasm shown was when they reminded us checkout time, but we were away on the first...More

We spent 3 nights and booked one of the double rooms in the apartments behind the hotel which they also book. It was safe and quiet. We would not hesitate to go back to La Calcina.

You can indeed walk quite easily via the Accademia bridge, with a total walking time of 15-20 minutes, assuming you don't allow yourself to get distracted on the way! Vaporetto's are also fairly frequent.
