The location is perfect, the room is okay, bathroom tiny but who wants to spend more time there than necessary. Have to agree the worst haidryer in the world. Take your own. Breakfast take it or leave it and mostly we left it. We were...More
The hotel is close to all the amenities you will need in Venice. It was extremely clean with very helpful staff. Our room was spotless everyday and the on suite facility was adequate. We were on the fourth floor and there is no lift in...More
I stayed at Hotel Orion for 2 nights while in Venice this past February. The hotel location couldn't have been any better. The hotel itself was easy to find, a short distance from the water taxi and a stones throw from St. Mark's Square.
Fantastic little hotel, run by locals. English of staff not fantastic but passable, staff very friendly and helpful with regards to recommending restaurants, helping with travel etc. Fantastic location, right off San Marco piazza, a 2 minute walk! Breakfast very good, delicious freshly made coffee!...More

The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and
Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
