We stayed at this hostel for a few days, and we liked it ! Nice location, breakfast is great, the room is clean. We also ate at the restaurant 2 times, the meal were good. The interior design is not fancy but the staff is really nice. I recommend !

Visited Jan/Feb 2017 Clean and tidy hotel, we had an annex room on the third floor (no lift) so was quite a climb and not enjoyable when you've been walking around Venice all day! Room was pleasant just a little dated! We booked the half board option but I would definitely recommend not doing this as the menu we were...

Second time we stay in hotel Malibran, especially for its location in the middle of Venice close to the Rialto bridge. Service and prices are very good. rooms in the old part are 'not that new any more' and rooms in the new section are very clean but not very large. But definitely will stay here when we return to...

This was a quaint hotel that had very super friendly staff. It was in a great location for wandering through Venice streets . Not far from the Rialto Bridge . We arrived in the evening and it was crowded in the streets but we followed our GPS and found it in a lovely quiet courtyard. We were however disappointed with...

The hotel is very accessible to the Rialto Bridge vaporetto and consequently by boat or on foot to Venice. The rooms are comfortable and staff very welcoming. Breakfast is basic continental but with plenty of choice for all tastes. Our first room was difficult to get the heating correct and they moved us without problem to a second one (110)....

Good location, very close to all the shops and restaurant, it is in the city centre. The price is good compared to other hotels, as all the hotels are very pricy in Venice. The room looks a bit "old", the bathroom is very clean, staff are friendly enough, people in the corridor are pretty loud, but it's quiet in the...

The hotel is very close to Rialto Bridge by walking about 10 minutes. We stayed triple room with 2 children, we spent more time outside and the room was very comfortable when we were back. The breakfast was good, the hotel staff was very helpful and kind. Everywhere was clean, the room cleaned and the bedclothes were changed everyday. They...

A delightful period building, 5 minutes from the Rialto bridge and Vaporetto (Water bus service). We had a double room which was perfectly suitable although the en-suit was a tight fit. The location and friendly staff more than made up for its deficits.

We stayed only one night after are cruise ended in Venice. The room was across the alley from the main hotel and thankfully we were only up one flight as there is no lift. The room was quite large, the bed while comfortable was very low to the ground and there was only one chair and a little desk. The...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
