Good location, very close to all the shops and restaurant, it is in the city centre. The price is good compared to other hotels, as all the hotels are very pricy in Venice. The room looks a bit "old", the bathroom is very clean, staff are friendly enough, people in the corridor are pretty loud, but it's quiet in the... More

The hotel is very close to Rialto Bridge by walking about 10 minutes. We stayed triple room with 2 children, we spent more time outside and the room was very comfortable when we were back. The breakfast was good, the hotel staff was very helpful and kind. Everywhere was clean, the room cleaned and the bedclothes were changed everyday. They... More

A delightful period building, 5 minutes from the Rialto bridge and Vaporetto (Water bus service). We had a double room which was perfectly suitable although the en-suit was a tight fit. The location and friendly staff more than made up for its deficits.

We stayed only one night after are cruise ended in Venice. The room was across the alley from the main hotel and thankfully we were only up one flight as there is no lift. The room was quite large, the bed while comfortable was very low to the ground and there was only one chair and a little desk. The... More

Pleasant staff and very helpful. Room was comfortable, very clean. It is fairly close to the Grand Canal, but be sure to write or call for directions before arrival. It is not easy to find! Buffet breakfast was tasty with good selections. The restaurant in the hotel gives 10% off to hotel patrons. Food was pretty good for dinner. There are... More

We were delighted to stay here for one night before going on a cruise. The room was well equipped and very clean. The bathroom had some of finest quality towels you could wish to find in a Hotel of this standard. The view of Venice rooftops from our window was stunning. The breakfast was buffet style with lots of choices... More

It was a simple hotel. Nothing fancy. The bathroom we had were the old styles and nothing separated the shower from the rest of the bathroom. It was all one floor with a drain. The bathroom was super small. My boyfriend and I aren't large in body size but if we were, we would not even fit. Other than that,... More

Excellent location, beautiful rooms, peaceful location, easy walk to local attractions. The hotel had a restaurant and included breakfast. The rooms were clean and comfortable, not a far walk from Ponte Rialto bridge

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
