I immensely enjoyed my stay at Arcadia, especially that the heat wave Lucifer was hitting that part of Italy at the time. At the time, Arcadia was my haven in hell. I've been to Venice 15 years ago, off season, so returning in early August...More
My sister and I booked two Superior rooms in June this year for 4 nights and both rooms were very nicely presented with modern, spacious bathroom facilities and included Roberto Cavalli toiletries. The room was comfortable, spotless and the bed linen was immaculate. The bed...More
We stayed here briefly (one night) and very much enjoyed our stay. We were welcomed with an Aperol Spritz (or prosecco), and the staff at the reception was very nice. The room was very elegant, with a super comfortable bed, spotless bathroom and an amazing...More
Just arrived back from a 3 night stay in the Arcadia hotel. I'm not usually one to leave a review, but this hotel was so fantastic it would be rude not to!! The room was spotless and a good size. The breakfast had everything you...More
Just home from spending 4 nights in the Arcadia Hotel. All we can say is that the hotel is perfect in every way. The hotel is in a lovely area of Venice, not too overcrowded but still enough happening. Everything was spotlessly clean (which we...More

Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby
shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
