If one is looking for mainly superb location, Ai do Mori is the place. Right in the middle of the town, literally 2 steps away from S. Marco piazza, we had a dissent place to stay. But at the same time, one must compromises on...More
The stairs are a challenge - expect at least 2 stories worth of steep narrow stairs - no elevator. You've been warned. That's the ONLY negative though.
The positives are numerous...neat and clean, comfortable beds, private bathroom, sound blocking windows (when closed the bells are...More
An amazing hotel may not look like it from the outside but inside it is really clean and tidy and the receptionists are so helpful they guided us with a map of the town I would recommend this hotel to anybody I know.
Customer service disgraceful. Mistake re check in required assistance and support. Instead we received emails saying, "it is your fantasy" and "be quiet!" in response. I have never received such rude and unhelpful emails from a hotel. Quite unbelievable!

The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and
Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
