Perfect place to stay to visit Venice. So convenient and the staff are extremely helpful. Second visit would recommend to anyone, giving choice to choose any number of places to visit, wander and find suitable restaurants

We were recommended the hotel by friends who had stayed there several times before and it was highly convenient for the whole of the city and a few steps from St Marks's Sq. Amazingly, some but not all of the rooms are very quiet, given the location. We booked through Booking.com and my guess is that the internet bookers don't...

We spent 3 nights at the mori. Easy to get to from the Orto water bus stop from the airport and a pleasant 20-30 minute walk from St. Mark's square via the Rialto bridge. Quiet at night. Andreas and all the staff very helpful and gave good restaurant recommendations. Good choice of breakfast. We used the complimentary ride out to...

2 sec away from St Marco (great location and easy to find), very silence rooms, clean comfortable rooms, many options around in terms of food and breakfast, fair price, friendly staff, great shower, great wifi signal, comfotable bed.... I cannot over compliment this place. A great catch!!!

I cannot thank the people who run and work in this hotel enough for the amazing service and treatment we have received within the past few days. They have been very kind, warm and polite to both my boyfriend and I. The location is perfect for a quick break and availability to all of Venices stunning sights : Piazzo San...

The hotel is located next to Piazza San Marco, with all the accomodations nearby (bar, restaurants, bank, shops etc.). It is a one star hotel, so it is pretty basic, but there's everything you need: i stayed in a single room at the 4th floor with a french bed (which has place for two), a small cabinet for clothes, tv,...

The Hotel is very clean and comfortable, the localization is amazing, very close to San Mark Square, but have just a little problem, as my room was on the 3rd floor and the stairs is very narrow, it was very complicated to carry the luggage up stairs, the hotel could provide a person to help with this.

The location of this hotel is incredible, right on St Marc's square in the heart of everything. And yet, despite the busyness we didn't have any sort of issues when it came to noise from outside. I was worried that the late night bustle might be an issue but we couldn't hear anything from our room. This isn't a 5...

If you are looking for a place that is most centrally located and you can't miss plus you are on a tight budget Ai do mori is your pick. It is tiny, a mere 8 or 10 rooms, so it can't offer breakfast or other amenities, but our room was nicely decorated, very clean and with partial view of San...

Even though we were concerned by the flowery marketing language (usually designed to disguise a bad hotel) this is a good hotel. All the staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast is good, rooms are decent and reasonably clean by Venetian standards. Overall sense of good value in a city lacking that quality.

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
