The hotel is ok. Undergoing renovation, the room we got with my girlfriend was not as shown on the advertisement pictures. Make sure to book a room in the main hotel part and not the second part !!! Not modern, damp walls, a single lonely table with a stool and a half cupboard with a curtain instead of a door....

It is what it is really, a traditional Italian hotel.. We were in a 4th floor family room and this was plenty big enough for 3 and for a single nights stay just enough. The stairs are steep so if you struggle with mobility beware, there are no lifts. There are a few more downsides such as lights hanging off...

Perfect spot to walk to from the train station. A straight path for a couple of blocks gets you into a busy, fun square where the tourist side of Venice begins. But those stairs with luggage are horrible and every room is upstairs. The air conditioner is weak and controlled by the central front desk which oversees several boutique hotels...

We have stayed at Hotel San Geremia 2 nights. The room was too small, but the bathroom was comfortable. The room was clean. The location is very good. Campo San Geremia is a lovely place to have rest and drinks. They offer discount at the cafe next to hotel where we had our breakfasts. They received 20 euros deposit for...

In fact – three or more hotels united by one reception desk. I can only vouch for the review of one of them. The location is great, service is OK, and the rooms are clean and modern. One may only regret that neither the hotels nor the restaurant accept credit cards. As a result: the guest in inconvenienced and taken...

only the location was good but there was no lift and we had to carry our luggage up to 4th floor!!!! The room was very tiny. The air conditioner was out of order. A small fan was left to the room and it was useless. All the night we could not sleep because of the heat and moisture. The night...

This hotel is good for what you paid. There is a private bathroom but outside the room. There is no breakfast but they offer 50% discount on the caffe next door. The employees are very educated and nice and the hotel very close to the train station if you are traveling by train this is a very big plus.

This hotel/hostel was worth it, considering the price was fairly cheap. My boyfriend and I had a private room that came with our own bathroom that was in the hall. The room and the bathroom were nice and clean, however the shower often overflowed quite a bit onto the bathroom floor. Our room came with a sink in the corner...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.

“To find it: In the Campo San Geremia, standing with the Tenenis underwear shop at your left, the motel is in the reddish building right in front of you, just to the right of the little alley. There is a small restaurant beside it. The crowd from the restaurant can make it hard to see the sign, but if you walk up to those tables, you will see it.”
