We stayed here for a night and that was enough. The position was excellent BUT the room were very small and the bathroom even smaller! The staff were just ok not very happy in their job. Not a lot to say about the hotel.

The hotel is in walking distance to the train station and the Vaporetto. The location is pretty amazing as you can see the grand canal from its windows and the square in front of the hotel. Their staff is very friendly and speaks multiple languages. They will also give you tips for nice restaurants in short distance. While expensive, the...

Stayed 1 night to connect to with a cruise, TOTALLY UNIMPRESSED. Extremely basic, the toilet seat lid came off in my hand and you need to be a skinny contortionist to even get in the shower that is over the bath.the room is basically a bed and bathroom...that's it, if you don't mind super basic with no frills, then you'll...

This is a very small Hotel without restaurant and service for drinks. Had two days there and with confirmed reservation but at departure day they charged us a higher price than in the offer...We left this place with a feeling of getting cheated 👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿. Be careful when you arrive and read all before you sign anything.

The hotel is very beautiful, our room was lovely and the staff was extremely nice. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. I cannot express in words how much we enjoyed everything and how delighted we were. If we ever have the chance, we will definitely come back.

This was our second time staying at Hotel Ai Due Fanali and it was just as wonderful. Bathrooms have been updated since our last visit and everything was very comfortable. We had problems with our flights being cancelled and Marco, at the front desk, was extremely helpful helping us get another flight, water taxi very early in the morning and...

Good location on quiet piazza. Easy walk to and from two Vaporetto stops (Ferro via, Riva de Biasio). Friendly staff. Clean rooms. In Venice, one should not be critical of small rooms, as others have been. If you want those, you'll pay top dollar. This hotel is concenient, comfortable, easy to find, and a goid value.

Top floor Room was very small although it was clean. Bed was surprisingly comfortable. Very think pillows! Lights in room too dim to read. Sloping ceiling with rafters, could not take upright in parts of the room, and especially not in the very narrow bathtub, could not turn around and had to kneel in it with a handheld shower head....

Dear sutherland98, Thank you for sharing your review about stay at the Ai Due Fanali Hotel. The rooftop level, that we call mansard, is very usual and traditional in Venice old palaces. Historically they are much associated to charming and romantic areas in our ancient city buildings and houses. They are usually not very large and ours it's not too....

The location and staff are very friendly. The breakfast lady is so welcoming with a big smile. However the room you could barely turn around in and the pillows were old and hard. We booked a queen size bed it was a small double. For the price I expected more especially as we stayed 5 nights in a shoe box....

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighbourhood identity.
