We changed hotels to this one and were pleasantly surprised how cute it was!! Very quaint, with an old world feel, it was like being transported to Venice 100 years ago.. The lobby is small with a glass chandelier, old fashioned furnishings and a medallion ceiling. Great location, steps away from the Rialto bridge and water taxi service. Breakfast included, great...

Very close to "RIALTO" bridge, airport stop - It's Breakfast was good - Clean room with old stuff - Beautiful lobby - Unfortunately my room had no window to canal so .... - Again...

Excellent location opposite side of the grand canal to the Rialto airport stop. We booked this hotel with Low Cost Holidays now bust, Frederico was most helpful in getting us into the hotel. No complaints the best hotel I've stayed in for a long time.

The trip started in Venice (Later on we visited Milan, but that’s another history) and we found it strangely massified. It’s nice visiting a place where you can discover new things, but Venice has become an overrated placer where all the shops are the same and the restaurants are tourist-traps. Anyway… The hotel was really easy to find, we took...

I booked a superior room, was given a standard.. Cleanliness was bad this time compared to last time stay. Staff became less friendly for no reason. Hotel lobby and 1st floor smell cigarettes odor all the time.

Could not get a better location for where we wanted to be which was near the Rialto Bridge. The view was superb. Hotel typical Italian with more than adequate facilities. Staff very friendly, room very clean and breakfast choice was enough to get us started on our exploration of this wonderful city. Stairs were a little tough but nothing that...

Perfect location and lovely ambience, room at the back , 3rd floor was quiet until about 7.30, but the people of Venice have a lot to do before the tourists get out! Breakfast was good. The staff were helpful with information, where to eat and transport info , and with luggage. It is a good 3 star b&b hotel.

We were happy with the location of the Marconi hotel. The rooms were fine and suited the atmosphere of Venice. Although old, I liked it. No lifts but the porter assisted to carry our bags to the 3rd floor. Breakfast was adequate to start us up on our day. It was included in the rate. Staff were neither friendly nor...

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
