We spent one night with Patricia at Casa Querini and loved it. It's a two minute walk to St Mark's Square on a quiet 'street'. Price, service, location, everything just what we needed. Easy walk to grab the Vaporetti and plenty of shopping and eating around the corner. Stay here, you won't regret it.

We loved our 4 nights at Casa Querini near San Marcos in Venice. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, and the location is as good as it could be. The personnel at Casa Querini is pleasant and very helpful. Directions were accurate and recommendations excellent. The breakfast space is a bit small, but other guests are pleasant and fun to... We stayed here a couple weeks ago on our first trip in Venice. The B&B has a lot of bonuses and we have no regrets but we also left thinking it has room for improvement and was probably our least favourite place to stay on the entire trip. When we checked in the Italian lady at the front desk was... More

Dear Guest, thank you so much for your comment. I ensure that our two nightportiers are very good workers, they take care of all the needs of our guests. Like in every small hotels, they have only duties of controll and surveillance and they can not give office assistance using the computer of the hotel. The reception services are available... More

This is a very charming B&B located very close to the Piazza San Marco. While close to some of the most famous attractions in Venice, it's location is well off the beaten tourist path. It's an easy 10 minute walk from the San Zaccaria vaporetto stop with no bridges to cross, which is important when dragging luggage around. Our room... More

My partner and I stayed in this little B&B in Venice for three nights in the room next to the Reception Desk on the first floor. The room was spacious, very clean and quiet. The B&B has a great location near St. Mark's and is situated on a quiet piazza. The staff couldn't have been any nicer - particularly the... More

This is great hotel near San Marco Plaza - about 5 minutes walking. We enjoyed the quiet location, the square in front of the hotel was a nice touch (breakfast outdoors weather permitting). Breakfast was good. The rooms were great and priced attractively for Venice. Our room size was good, Did not check out the other rooms. The staff was... More

Arrived on a Friday withPope Benedict in town. Great location but the smallest room is very small. The staff and the breakfast are great fresh food everyday. The innkeeper was curt and had our bags packed 1 hour before checkout 10am. We stayed one more night inVenice at a nearby luxury hotel rated highly less money. Do not stay in... More

We appreciated the location but were disappointed with the hotel. Our room was - literally - right behind the reception desk, so we heard everything that came and went through the front door. Our room wasn't ready when we got there so we went and ate then came back. The staff was friendly - always able to give directions and... More

This hotel is in a small piazza not far from the Bacilica. We flew into Venice and took a water taxi near the hotel. We needed to walk about 2 blocks. The hotel was clean and basic. The staff was knowledgable and helpful. A good value.

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
