I stayed in this otel beginning of September. Location is very good and very centralized. There is no there advantage to stay in this hotel. Standard rooms are very small. It is hard to stay in two person. Rooms are not clean. Beds and sheets are clean. Bathroom is also not so clean. Furnutures are very old fashion.

my boyfriend booked a four day break here for our anniversary, I didn't know a thing until we got to the airport. I was VERY excited and not disappointed when we arrived at the hotel. We found that a lot of people have been travelling for hours trying to find their hotel, to find and walk to our took a...

For the price, I'm not certain this place could get better! Let's face it... Venice is like $$$$$$$. This place is a stone's throw from the piazza, and it's a lovely night's stay! Bed is firm, but I like it. Hotel is quite dated, but everything is comfortable and fine. Carpet and tile are all dated and tired, but it's...

Excellent location and staff. Need some updating. Huge suite, nice view, Good breakfast. Loved it. Very close to St. Marks square and Rialto bridge. Heart of shopping and every thing, able to take Gondola ride in front of the hotel.

The location of the hotel is very good. It is just on the main San Marco Square which is the main activity center in Venice. From here you have access to all the attractions and night life activities. Food and breakfast variety for Vegetarian people is very limited here but this phenomena is prevalent all over Europe.

This hotel has an excellent location that is very close to St. Mark's Square and is the only reason I'm giving it 2 stars. Unfortunately, this is the only good thing I can say about this hotel. The room was so small there was no room to walk and no where to put your suitcase. The beds were hard and...

We were given directions to the hotel and got lost ... not good at 9.00pm in Venice dragging suitcases over bridges and flagstone streets. When we did find the hotel, it turned out we were at the wrong entrance and the staff would not come to help us find the right one ... very bad experience.

I read the other mixed reviews and was worried. All I can say is that if you want bigger rooms than you should book the Marriott and skip the boutique hotels. This hotel was exactly what I was looking for. A small, boutique hotel, beautifully appointed, with a super helpful and friendly staff only steps to St. Marco Piazza, shops...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
