The hotel is a hidden gem tucked in Venice, within 10 mins walking distance to St Mark's square. Our hotel room was spacious with an upgraded toilet. It has a large bed, various TV channels and centralized heating system. The hotel offers free coffee and tea facilities during the day, which works out perfectly for us as we could enjoy...

Great location, excellent service, nice small hotel for a weekend stay in Venice! We were lucky to book a room in this small boutique hotel (the hotel has 9 rooms...), located in an little alley with easy access to main tourist attractions. Breakfast was delicious and served in a living room style lounge with possibility to sit outside when it's...

Lovely hotel. The staff are all so nice and friendly. Everything was great. Right in the middle of Venice close to a boat bus stop. We stayed on the second floor and there's a lovely sitting room there to while away some time if you want to. there is also a sitting room on the ground floor with tea, coffee,...

When travelling, besides seeing and learning new stuff, it is always cozy and feels like home knowing that when going back to where you lodge you know what to expect, you are welcomed and find whatever you need. That's Novecento. The boutique hotel is well located, not far from San Marco and Rialto, close to restaurants, shops, points of attraction...

We stayed during Carnevale at this great little hotel. We were booking our break fairly last minute and actually decide to charge the start date of our break to be able to stay here. We scoured the internet looking for a boutique style hotel at a reasonable price and we hit gold when we discovered Novecento. The location is perfect between...

We had a wonderful stay at Novecento. The hotel and room were beautiful, breakfast was tasty, and the location couldn't be beat. The staff were so friendly and helpful, making great restaurant recommendations, making a reservation for us, and giving us some tips on where to go to see the opening night action of Carnevale. If we ever make it...

We arrived for honeymoon vacation at the novecento boutique hotel, no words to describe our feeling, the stuff are very kindly and helping us in every thing we need, they also surprised us with honeymoon gift in the room. This was the third time in four years that I have travelled from Dallas to meet my daughter for a week in Venice during her mid winter break from teaching in Istanbul. We have always stayed at the Novecento based on an initial recommendation from the New York Times a few years ago. The hotel is cozy, comfortable and charming...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
