This was our second stay at Cima Rosa. We had a lovely warm welcome from Valentina in reception and stayed in a beautiful suite on the Grand Canal. Valentina is a fantastic host and she makes everyone welcome and has lots of good ideas for places to visit and where to eat. The hotel is situated near San Stae vaporetto...

We had stayed at Cima Rosa for two nights for a long weekend. Our host Brittany was extremely warm and welcoming, and gave us some great tips. The hotel is beautiful and charming and has really lovely interiors, our room was great however the the walls are like paper... we were woken up each morning by the couple upstairs and...

My wife surprised me with a wonderful weekend in Venice and chose the excellent Cima Rosa as our base. So easy to get to via Alilaguna (San Stae is about 200m away) and brilliant for exploring all parts of the islands. You can walk to almost anywhere inside 30-40 mins. Valentina is lovely and could not be more helpful, suggesting...

First time to Venice, found this hotel through reviews on trip advisor and it was everything that you could want. Brittany and Valentina were wonderful hosts and Gladys just attended to everything for you. Their local restaurant recommendations were excellent and reasonably priced. Rooms just gorgeous and spotlessly clean with views over the Grand Canal. Very relaxing place to stay...

Arrived Tuesday 29th November and instantly felt relaxed, this is the perfect place to stay in Venice. Forget the overpriced plastic hotels and stay here, I really don't think you could be disappointed, we were warmly met at the door by Valentina and were shown the breakfast lounge area, then up a small flight of stairs towards our suite we...

We were in Venice to celebrate our children's 21st birthday, and stayed over the weekend. The Grand Canal suite and Rooms overlooking the Grand Canal were exquisitely decorated as was the rest of this beautiful Palazzo. From the moment we booked Brittany always responded very quickly to my questions and gave us fantastic places to eat that as a normal visitor...

Not only was this place located next to the Canal, so you can enjoy breakfast or a glass of wine while you watch the boats pass by, but the staff was amazing. From the ladies who served breakfast in the morning to the staff and owners. All were fantastic. Brittany will give you the best recommendations and will make reservations...

This is a wonderfully and sensitively restored merchants house / Palazzo that is elegant and understated in the great location of Santa Croce. Central yet quiet within a few minutes walk of water vaparetto halt of San Stae. The hosts are charming and helpful and always willing to help. It is not a full service hotel although there is so...

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
