If you are looking for typical venecian style palace you need to check in into Ca'Amadi. That has been the best choice in Venice we ever did. Very friendly and helpful staff, very very nice and spacious rooms and a good breakfast. The location, only a few minutes from Rialto bridge, is hidden from the tourist ways. It is so...

I selected this Bed & Breakfast online, after reading good reviews. I wasn't disappointed. It is located close to the Rialto Bridge so getting to it from the Water Bus stop was convenient. The reception was helpful in giving us proper directions and also on how to move around Venice. The breakfast was served on time at 8 in the...

Very nice people, great location. The hotel has a strong personality, you can not find anywhere else, only in Venice! This hotel is located in a small street, you can take water bus from the station and get off at the rialto bridge, go down into the street, there will be a square of shops, go to the left and...

A perfect Venice getaway! The room was perfect: styled in old Venezia colours and tapestry. Breakfast was included and had a great selection of treats to start your day. The area is quiet and just off the tourist trail- but close to everything you want to see in Venice! We will definitely stay here again!

In early January, I took my 13 year old granddaughter on a trip to Italy. Venice and the hotel Ca'Amadi was our first stop. It is a very elegant, old world, small hotel located steps away from the Rialto Bridge. Our room was spacious and well equipped. Breakfast is served in the lobby/reception area..it offered both cold and hot choices,...

We stayed in the suite which did not disappoint. Lovely large room and bathroom and decorated in venizian style decor. Two windows overlooking the canal which was great to watch the gondolas go past. It is a small hotel which gave it that coziness feel. The breakfast was good. Staff very friendly. The location is perfect. Difficult to find ?...

This place has so much character that fits in perfectly with Venice. The 2 staff members we dealt with could not have been more accommodating and helpful, from beginning to end. Thank You Ca Amadi for an excellent stay in Venice.

My husband and I stayed here for 1 night during our 7 nights in Florence. We had booked and paid for 7 nights in Florence, took a back-pack each, jumped on the train and spent 1 of the nights here. Much less stressful than carting all of our heavy bags. Firstly, you need to contact the hotel for directions before...

Really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful, small hotel tucked away in a lovely quiet courtyard but only minutes from all the main sites. Beautiful, comfortable room, very clean. Staff were lovely especially the owner. Would definitely recommend it.

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
