This hotel was beautiful with a friendly service. Our room was in a separate building just around the corner. It was very quiet and the view from our room of the canal and square was lovely. There were a few rooms directly off the breakfast...More
Our room was in another building just around the corner from the main hotel. It was quiet, very warm and cosy, and very clean. The breakfast was lovely, lots of variety. Despite being so close to the main tourist area, the hotel and surrounding areas...More
The concept of the hotel is actually good, but the room we were given was so disappointing. Do not ever book a classic room here, they may give you an attic room. This room is suffocating, especially since they do not turn on airconditioning during...More
It's not the hotel's fault, but more than once we've lost the track to come back finding this hotel in ridiculously confusing Venice. Nevertheless, the location of Ca' dei Conti was pretty good for a short trip. Just minutes to Marcus square (if you don't...More
On the one hand we got a very good deal and although we were given a room in the annex, we got a big and nicely appointed room. Bubbly waiting when we arrived even. But if we hadn’t been warned that we would most likely...More

Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a
strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.

From San Zaccaria boat station, take the street named Calle delle Rasse and continue until you reach a farmacy. You are now in a little square named Campo di san filippo e giacomo. Once you are in the "campo", take the street named Calle drio la chiesa (on the left side) and turn left onto the street named Calle di fianco alla chiesa before reaching the bridge. Pass the porch on your right and you immediately find our private bridge that leads you to the hotel.
