We had a long journey from singapore to munich and finally venezia before reaching the hotel. Tired, cold and was hoping to get a nice warm welcome. Upon reaching the hotel, the staff just looked at us without smiling and we didn't feel welcome. Luckily we only stayed there for a night. Throughout the stay the staff were really unwelcoming....

A beutiful time in a very nice hotel in the middle of Venice. The Service is really nice and friendly. The room is small but clean and a nice view on the river and the boats passing by and the Gondoliere singing there songs. I will come back to the hotel Mercurio.

Staff were so helpful with everything that we needed, it was very tidy and clean all the time, breakfast was lovely too. The location of it is close to the majority of everything, near the Rialto Bridge and St.Marks Square.

Location is very good (center of the town), breakfasts are perfect: much choice and tasty. Our room was on the 3rd or 4th floor, but they brought our baggage to the room, so it was not a problem. The room was ok, but the bathroom was a little bit old.

We stayed for one day. The good thing was that we had only back bags with us. The breakfast was really good with variety of different things. We booked an economy room which was really small but good enough for one night.

Great location and easy access to all areas of Interest. The team are very helpful and the room rates are reasonable though a little small. We felt most welcome and we will stay again. Call the Hotel directly for the best room rates.

Location is perfect and staff is friendly, plus they speak english for what we were very grateful. However, rooms are very average. The mattress was a bit of a torture but hey, you get what you pay (which is good). Take into account in the price +14€ in city tax that can only be paid in cash...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
