We stayed at this Hotel last week, we had a basic room, as it was the only one available at the time of
booking, was small, but spotlessly clean, a little off putting bars at the window but it was street level, otherwise the Hotel...More
Located very close to the Grand Canal pier at San Marcuola, this little hotel was a very pleasant place to stay. The room was a decent size, and met all of our needs. We had a first floor, corner room, which did make it a...More
Comfortable and clean. Location is excellent. Right next to the vaporetto. Close to shops and restaurants.
Breakfast is modest but good considering the price.
Staff were very helpful.
Would definitely stay there again.
Hotel is about 50 steps away from the San Marcuola vaparetto station (which itself is the 3rd stop from the main P. Rialle station.)
Very simple hotel. Clean, Less than reliable wifi and poor TV channel choices

Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby
shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.

The best method is the water Taxi which takes you almost to the door. Ensure you get very clear directions to the jetty for the Taxi before you leave the airport.
