Great location on Dorsoduro, minutes from the Academia bridge, in a lovely, quiet, very local feeling neighbourhood. Rooms look exactly as advertised on the website. Charming, Venetian style. Clean rooms. Very friendly staff. Great coffee and good breakfast, simple, but all fresh. Definitely a place to return to!

The hotel has only six or seven rooms (judging from breakfast tables). The rooms are very nice, furnished in an old venetian style and the location is quite good. It is in Dorsoduro, one block or so from Peggy Guggenheim Museum (great collection of modern art !!) and close to the church of La Salute. Close to vaporetti stops on... More

We really enjoyed our stay in this small family run hotel. The two brothers who run it couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. We had a wonderfully quiet room in a very safe area of the city. There are only a few rooms and breakfasts are just what is needed. It is only 5 mins from the Academia Bridge... More

The hotel is located on a quiet and peaceful street completely free from the swarm of tourists that crowd central Venice yet still two minutes walk from the Guggenheim, a scant eight minutes from the Gallerie dell'Accademia and a pleasant stroll to San Marco. We arrived late, at around 9 p.m. and after usual reception hours, but Daniele was happy... More

The room is clean, spacious and well originally fitted bedroom. Great bathroom too. Friendly staff however a bit absence during night, however they inform you in advance (there isn't a 24 h service it stop at 6 PM). Breakfast should improve, as the industrial cake available or brioche was a bit sad to see. No fruit available but a tin... More

Tucked away from the crowds in a very quiet street. Still it is very close to both Zattere and Accademia (Zattery for afternoon drinks and Accademia for transport to other parts of the city). The room was very nice, decorated in Venetian style and the breakfast more than ok. A good stay overall!

When people post that this hotel is difficult to find...that's an understatement. Even with GPS it's very hard to locate because few streets/alleys have names. We finally stumbled upon it because a shop owner was able to direct us with a make a left and then another, then a right and look for an arch and then proceed past the... More

I stayed at Locanda Ca' del Brocchi recently with a friend. We had the small twin bedded room which was very small, but spotlessly clean. The beds were comfortable but narrow. Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
