We loved the location, architectural structure, room and the stuff. Entering from the yard gives a spaciousness to the building. You feel like you're welcomed to a big house rather than a hotel in Venice. We had enough space in our room and bathroom. It was clean and the stuff was very helpful.

We easily found this as it was a short walk from the station...(be careful with suitcases with wheels as there are no ramps on the bridges). The location was superb, as it was easy to reach all the main places but also (important when you have young kids) peaceful at night. Breakfast was excellent and the staff always polite and...

We stayed at Palazzo Odoni for 4-5 nights in October 2011. It was a very nice hotel and I have absolutely no negatives to report. The room was comfortable and clean, with a large bathroom and large shower. The breakfast was particularly good. The folks at the front desk spoke excellent English and were very helpful with all our questions....

This charming 9 room building was built in the 15th century and has been run by the same family for 7 generations ... We chose Palazzo Odoni (after reading wonderful reviews) for its proximity to the port for cruise lines since we only had a one-night stay before boarding a cruise ship next morning and a visit to teh San...

Very helpful stuff and warm service we experienced in the hotel, the room is not big but with typical venetian decoration and clean ,morden & big bathroom. The location needs 15 mins walk away from train station but easily found , the only think would like to suggest is better to prepaid some raintool like umbrella or raincoat in case customer...

After our 24 hour flight from Melbourne to Milan then train to Venice it was wonderful to be greeted by such warm and friendly staff. Hotel is convenient to the train station and to some wonderful aimless wandering around the beautiful city of Venice. Very quiet hotel, you walk off the canal into a courtyard before you get to the...

Hotel is typical venetian in style and elegant design. Very Handy to railway or bus depot or taxi car stand for cruise ships. Cheaper rooms are small but excellent bathroom, and quiet. No signage other than brass plate on big wooden door and buzzer to let you in. Leads into a courtyard, where you are faced with at least 40...

The breakfast was great, with a considerable amount of variety. Highly recommend the pastries. The room was clean and comfortable with a large bathroom. All the staff were helpful as well as friendly. Great location if you have an early train ride. Will certainly be back, considering we got a great deal for the month we went. Highly recommend.

We spent 1 night in Palazzo Odoni few days ago. We often go to Venice and are always looking for good places to stay. At the moment this is the best place we found. Good value for money, which is difficult to find in a place so much touristic as Venice. Palazzo Odoni is a lovely small B & B...

Great hotel on one of the channels. It is a good location for getting to the cruise ports. Rooms are quiet and nice with a very large modern bathroom. They offer a good selection at breakfast which consisted of fresh fruit, pastries, cereals and juices. The breakfast was a good way to start the day. The hotel staff is friendly...

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighbourhood identity.
