Very close to the train station, but beware: google maps it incorrectly! Just cross the bridge, turn right along the canal, and follow around the bend, through the tunnel. Perfect location to begin a vaporetto ride on the Grand Canal, as it is an initial...More

Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture
universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighbourhood identity.

I wouldn't say this is a typical comfy honeymoon hotel, but it is adequate for 2-3 nights basic clean accommodation as a base for sightseeing. A 2 night stay only gives you 1 full day so you won't see much, but you can prebook a sightseeing walk and gondola ride that takes say 3 hours or so. Reference to a guidebook will allow you to plan what you want to see (and what you need to miss). There are a number of options by road and water from Marco Polo airport to Venice. Cheap, quick and running frequently throughout the day was the airport express bus at 15 Euros per adult return, including luggage (8 Euros single fare) in October '17. The bus station is a few minutes walk from the hotel. If we return to Venice we would book this hotel again.

It's Venezia San Lucia station. It's literally 3minutes walk from Casa Santandrea. Venice doesn't have any on road taxis ; they have water taxis, which you don't need for casa santandrea. Even if you have luggage it wouldn't be a problem as you would cross only one bridge by foot. If you have lot of luggage to carry then you can hire porters. But again it's a waste of money as the accommodation is very close to station. Hope it answers your queries. Have a nice time in Venice.
