We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. Great location, reasonable price, nice breakfast and free wifi. We spent most of our time exploring beautiful Venice so didn't spend too much time in the hotel. Therefore we didn't mind the roof view which wasn't great but overall very good stay.

-We stayed here in March. The hotel is a good location for arriving in Venice as is close to the Piazzale Roma where the bus from the airport drops you off. The train station is near by and the vaporetto stops couldn't be any closer! -Our room was plain, simple and clean as expected. There is no tv or telephone...

We stayed here for 4 nights from 19th May, the cleanliness is very good, breakfast ample to start the day. We did not find the staff friendly and the staff that do the breakfast are very good clearing the tables but they did not speak at all to the guests or smile !! Yes the building is great and full...

We had a wonderful 2 night stay. So very clean and so handy to the ship we were about to embark on, it is basic and very good value for money, we would rather not spend our money on expensive accommodation that we were only going sleep in and this bed and breakfast fitted the bill nicely. All the staff...

We slightly disappointed to find two single beds, rather than a double bed. The room was small, though we were pleased to have a view of the canal. We had to share a large bathroom with two other rooms. The staff was mostly nice, though we were told there are no maps available, but we later saw the lady give...

This hotel is situated next to piazale roma: the central area from where you can take the bus, vaporeto etc. It is also within walking distance from almost everywhere. I stayed there for one week, and I have to say that this is an extremely clean and tidy hotel. The rooms are smallish: there was no table so I had...

I booked this through Booking.com and was very satisfied. I understand that this hotel was a former convent, so the rooms are small but clean and perfectly adequate. Venice is expensive and we didn't want to spend all of our money on accommodations, for a place we were just going to sleep, so this fit the bill. We were on...

Venice is expensive, and it's hard to find a good room for a reasonable price. Having stayed at other hotels and guesthouses in Venice, I would say Casa Sant'Andrea is a very good option for the price (I booked it through Logitravel and had no problems through that portal). The room was huge, the toilet clean. Free wi-fi and the...

I came with friends for a 4-day holiday and stayed on this hotel. The man who introduced himself as the manager was very rude and arrogant. He doesn't treat the guests with respect and worst of all he claimed that he's been with the hotel for 13 years?!how is that possible? He's definitely not a good asset for the hotel. The...

Hotel very easy to find from Bus Station, bearing in mind this is only a two star hotel, no frills but exceptionally clean. Rooms cleaned daily and fresh towels. Unfortunately whilst we were there it was like staying at St Trinians (a very very noisy group of school girls were staying in our corridor on an art tour) But I...

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighbourhood identity.
