Magical atmpsphere, the cosy rooms, the quiet road in the heart of the most beautiful city of the world. Staying in Venice has never been so magical! All of you that want to feel how it is to be a venetian, stay in this small family run house 2 steps away from the fenice theater and san Marco square.

We just returned from a four day stay at Casa alla Fenice and found it a really great stay. Our room was quiet and the windows to the street sound proofed the room when closed. We had no troubles with noise, but be advised, Venice is a noisy city. It is a terrific location, very central and a steal for...

The hotel is well located and the breakfast is good. Our room was well presented and as shown in the pictures. However, there are a couple of issues. Firstly the sound proofing of the room is poor, it's possible to here people coming up the stairs and the entrance buzzer. Which when people are arriving at 2am in the morning...

We stayed for three nights at Casa alla Fenice in January. Found the hotel to be in a very central location although a little difficult to find as the book shop they describe in the directions seems to be closed on a Sunday. However, when we got there, we were taken to our room, Casanova room. The room was very...

I contacted Casa Alla Fenice on a whim shortly before our trip to Italy after finding its website (casaallafenice.com). We had reservations at another location, but I thought their location and their rooms were wonderful. We were lucky enough to get their cupid room and we were not disappointed! The location was easy to find by following the directions on...

We were late in booking our room and so we stayed in the smallest room. However, it was impeccably clean and so convenient. I felt as if I really lived in Venice for four days. The owner and other staff were SO helpful. We have already reccommended it to our friends and I will definitely stay on our return visit...

We have stayed in Casa alla Fenice from 26th August for 3 nights and it was really nice. The bed was a bit on a the small side and it looked like we had the smallest room (Sogno) but it looked amazing and it was spotless. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is fine (continental) and it's...

Myself & partner stayed at casa alla fenice for 4 nights and loved it. The location was excellent- 5minutes from St marks square and no more than 20minutes to all the other tourist sights. Rooms were clean with a lovely big bed. Breakfast was served to our room at our requested time, it was basic but set us up for...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
