This is a beautiful hotel!! We stayed here after completing our cruise and were able to walk to the hotel with no difficulty in no more than 10 minutes. This saved a tremendous amount of time - water taxi lines were long! The lobby is beautiful and the employees were very helpful. They were very accommodating as we arrived before...

Stayed 4 nights for a minimoon break. Couldn't fault the hotel at all. Great room. Great service. Great location. And amazing breakfast! In the quieter artsy area of the city, away from the tourist hoards but still within easy walking distance to all the sights. Would definitely stay here again 😊

I love hotels with helpful staff, yummy included breakfasts, and great locations. This hotel has all of that and more. It was the night before my birthday and Brendon (My BF) went down and asked that we be work up with a chocolate brownie with a candle, Veuve Clicquot, and fresh OJ. They knocked very silent and didn't even wake...

The hotel is very close to the train station (SM Novella) and vaporetto dock. Every inch of it is gorgeous. It's a boutique hotel (39 rooms?) and our room was cozy but fine for two people. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean and modern. Location was quiet, but close to some restaurants and attractions. They provided a breakfast...

What can I say about this hotel that hasn't been said already? From the minute we arrived we were very impressed by both the hotel and staff. On arrival we were offered a welcome drink while they booked us in. All very calm and considered. Our room was really nice and comfortable overlooking the canal and offering all the comforts...

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighbourhood identity.
