The first time we couldn't find it until Dorina picked us up at the next main square. After a couple of days we learned how to get there by following the blue sign to the Hospital. Marina the owner is very friendly, she lets you feel at home. Actually it is home as the furniture comes from her private dwelling...

Very good friendly and spotless . Close to everything and after a couple of days it was easy to find your way around. The best way not to get lost is look at the numbers on the buildings if your no good at maps like me. One of the locals told me and it worked .

You may find difficult to locate the hotel. we reached at 11.30 pm in night and it was very hard to find the place. Room was clean and well maintained but overall structure is not great. services was just ok.

We stayed 3 nights. Yes it is difficult to find especially at night, down a very narrow lane, but the ladies running it are very friendly and the location is well away from the main tourist spot. Interesting decor and the room was adequate. We found some good restaurants nearby, not too touristy which the ladies were able to recommend....

We stayed here for 2 nights. It was a little tricky to find. The 2 ladies that run this B&B could not me more friendly, were very helpful and spoke English. The room was nicely furnished although the double bed was 2 singles pushed together. There was air con in the room which was very welcome after the heat outside....

Well located in Venice. It looks like a private home transformed into a hotel. The hotel manager can speak in many languages including French and English. The hotel manager is very helpful with public transport, city attractions and providing information about the city. The staff are very friendly and speak English. The continental breakfast is good with hot buns, hot...

We just came back from a Venice mini holiday and I'm still full of emotions. This is the most amazing, the most romantic city of the world. Absolutely unique with her canals everywhere. But also expensive and too crowded. If you want to find a good value - good Venice value - b&b for your money, look no further. This...

We stay at this hotel for three night, was very disappointed. We were on the second floor of the hotel where there is a kitchen and dinning room right in front of our room. We were not really happy about the air condition due to the hot weather in Venice. Second, the wifi were really slow in my room, not...

To reach by public transport from airport take blue line to Ospedale (€27 return )then walk around the outer boundaries of the hospital. At the main square you could ask at one of the restaurants for precise directions By staying in the Locanda Cà del Console you accept the quirks of the building. Through the main street entrance ahead lies...

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
