Watch for high tide, Hotel provided bags for our feet! Thanks Nick. Great cozy place, close to all. Weird enterance, alley, but don't let that scare you... safe and great place! Good breakfast and clean nice room.

Just had two nights at this delightful small hotel in Venice. Fresh, bright, spotlessly clean and very peaceful although located very close to everything you need! Excellent eateries within minutes walk as is the main bus station (less than 10 minutes) Rail station and Vaporetto stops. If flying in and out of Marco Polo Airport the Alilaguna boat stop is...

We just spent the week-end in Venice. Ca' Pozzo Inn was a great find ! It is a very nice hotel in a quiet location at the back end of a very small street. It is very close to the station and from Piazzale di Roma (very convenient if you arrive by bus from the airport) and there are several...

This is a great hotel for its price bracket. It may not have the plush furniture and fittings, or canal views, but nor is it going to crush your credit card. The location is brilliant. St Lucia railway station is an easy 10 mins walk, the Grand Canal is a bridge away. And everything that is Venice is just there....

This was the best hotel we stayed at in Italy. Amazing! Great service, beautiful room, quiet location (Venice is quite busy and can get loud), conveniently located so close to the train station that you can easily walk to the hotel. The best part was breakfast - so delicious!! I would come back here without any doubt. Thank you so...

The hotel was an easy walk from the railway station and the map provided when booking made finding it easy. The hotel is tucked down a dingy alley way which looked a bit scary but was quite safe. The staff are friendly and accommodating but be aware you may have to carry your suitcases up a flight of stairs. It...

We recently stayed at Ca'Pozzo for one night and could not have been happier. Being my second trip to Venice, it was refreshing to stay away from the tourist madness of Piazza San Marco. The morning fish and produce markets right outside the portico made us feel like locals. Our room was very clean and comfortable, breakfast was just enough...

The hotel is easy to find if you do your homework before departure. Venice can be a bit of a labyrinth, and addresses do not mean as much as they do in other places. The map provided on the hotel’s website is more than efficient to get there safely. Check in procedure was smooth and courteous. The room size was...

Verry nice hotel. Calm. Good situation. Service ok. My room was perfect, but in my friend's room the bathroom had some problems. Ca'Pozzo can improve the breakfast, but it is not the most important thing in a hotel. If I come back to Venice, I 'll choose Ca'Pozzo again.

We stayed at this beautiful spotless hotel for 3 nights and everything was great. Location was perfect, near but not too close from St Lucia Train Station. Vapporeto stops are at waking distance. For those who visit Venice for the first time, believe me, there's no need to stay at a way more expensive hotel or B&B in San Marcos,...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
