Disappointed when we've arrived. The receptionist just handed out the keys of the room without giving any explantion. The first receptionist gave a very lazy impression. The receptionist of the next day was much better. He was very kind and gave us a lot of tips about the city. The room was in a Venetian style which we appreciated, but...

We arrived in Venice after a week in Florence and were greeted by Diego who checked us in efficiently, helped with our bags and showed us to our rooms. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is quaint and typically decorated in Venetian style. The location is ideal if you are looking to stay a short distance from the main...

I made a booking online in error by clicking on the incorrect button. I cancelled immediately and they have billed me for the full amount despite me contacting them within an hour of discovering my error. I contacted them to reason with them but had the phone put down in my ear twice. Francesca did not reply to my email...

Dear Debbie L, in our Hotel there isn't someone named "Francesca", you are probably mistaking us for a Travel Agency. What you think about "Cancellation Policy" doesn't matter, it's a rule and you agree on that when you book. Few days ago, my collegue put down the phone after repeating that he didn't understand what he was earing. that was...

Outside of the hustle and bustle of the centre of Venice but such a short walk from the bus station, water bus access and restaurants a plenty, this is a gem of a hotel. Quaint and clean, we loved every moment of our stay here! The staff cannot help enough with guidance around the city and tips for getting the...

While driving around North Italy last week we decided on an impromptu visit to Venice and, after a few searches on Trip Advisor, were fortunate enough to land the last room available at the Tiziano. We were welcomed heartily by Diego at front desk who managed to locate our incredibly late booking, checked us in and carried our one suitcase...

My husband and I recently stopped here for 3 nights and after reading the reviews I thought it sounded great but I think sometimes people review higher scores because they enjoyed Venice so much.I was disappointed with the room as we were on the top floor in the roof, the room was very dark and hot although there was air con...

We came here for just a short time with our 3 children to see if they could take a walking city holiday and it was so great we wished we had stayed longer. The 3 bed apartment was roomy and cool and air conditioned and lovely to come back to. The area was quiet but handy and with great bars...

Lovely small hotel. Well appointed. Nice room. Really helpful lady front of house. Slightly out of the main hub but that made it far more peaceful. Very reasonably priced. Overall no complaints, quite rare for me !

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
