Spent four nights here (20-24 Oct 2015) with my daughter and grandson. Really warm and welcoming reception; room cleaned and tidied daily; plentiful towels; tea making facility in room. Highlight was the delightful garden area for breakfasts, which were plentiful. Could not find fault with this stay at all.

Had a lovely stay here for 4 nights. Great room, very comfy and very clean. Lovely breakfast and little garden if you choose to have breakfast there, we did! Very friendly and helpful staff, great location. Will definitely book again, highly recommend.

I enjoyed staying at the Hotel. It's welcoming and the staff are nice. I came here with my mum and granny, the location was good. Venice is a lovely place and I love the little alleyways. The breakfast at the Hotel was great (I liked the Spread at breakfast. England. 🇬🇧

Fantastic little hotel with friendliest employees on earth! Small rooms and bathrooms but very clean and hospitable. The breakfast is lovely. The hotel is in located in the heart of Venice, tucked into a little side street near a lively and comfortable piazza. Be sure to try the Trattoria Bepe right next to the hotel. Wonderful spot.

This is a nice, smallish hotel. My wife and I stayed here for three nights in October. Location is very good. There is a church next door, and guests should be aware that the bells ring at seven every morning. Our room was very small, but that was as expected. The entire hotel is very cosy. Breakfast was quite good...

It was hard to find the hotel when we first arrived, but in fact it was in a great location just near the Chiesa dei Santi Apostoli, at one end of Strada Nuova. The staff were really nice and helpful, and we sat outside every morning for breakfast. Our room was up 3 narrow flights of stairs, but was clean,...

A very good hotel in a great location. Away from any street noise but near enough to all attractions. The rooms are on the small side but very nice with the 15th century feel about them. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful should you need to seek help on where to go or eat. Having read...

While The Hotel Mignon is only 3 star it ticked all the boxes for our long weekend away, it is not 5 star and does not pretend to be so. Maybe a little worn on a few edges but very friendly staff on the desk. Breakfast is available in the sheltered courtyard, with a good 'continental' spread. Our room was...

I booked this for our family of 5. Nice 3 bedroom apartment was right on a canal. Very sunny rooms and very clean. Walk up apartment, but it was fine and nicely appointed furnishings. 15 minute walk to Rialto bridge and Rialto market and 10 minutes to shops along the grand canal. Co-op market 3 minutes walk away and many...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
