This hotel is perfectly located near the Rialto bridge. It is a little tricky to find with your luggage, but the hotel does a nice job of giving directions that are easy to understand. No elevator to help get your luggage up the stairs. 5-10 minute walk to San Marco if you know how to navigate through Venice. Very close...

Dear Russell R, thank you for your review! =) We are happy to hear that you have enjoyed a lot your vacation with us and our central location. Unfortunately elevetors are really rare in Venice, since the city is more than a 1000 years old and all the palaces are original (our is more than 300 years old!). We will...

The hotel is ideally located, in the center of Venice, easily accessible from the Rialto Bridge, even with suitcases. There is no lift as it is an old building but the staff offered to carry them up for us. Some people were in front of us at the reception but we were offered a drink and a seat while waiting....

Very close to the Rialto bridge but hidden away on a side street so the crowds don't bother you at all. There is no elevator but Francesco help us with our luggage, he also pointed out for us all the areas to visit and recommended a few restaurants. Clean room and excellent service. Will stay there again.

Location is fantastic! Best ever! It's near every attraction and close walking distance to everything. The place was very clean and the rooms were comfortable and spotless. The downside and major disadvantage was the unacceptably poor breakfast, especially for the price of the room. It is unacceptable to have a vending machine for coffee in Italy and specifically in a...

Dear alidiab77, thank you for your review. We are happy to hear that you have appreciated our location, our attention to cleanliness and our rooms. Regarding your evaluation on our breakfast: if the only problem was the coffee machine, then we would like to point out that, here in Venice, almost every single hotel or B&B uses them. Some other...

We were in the top room of this small and charming B&B. There is no lift-be prepared. The bed was comfortable, bathroom was small but serviceable. We had a small wooden staircase onto the rooftop patio-we could see other rooftops and a family of gulls on the next building-great entertainment. The highlight of the stay was speaking with Francesco who...

Quiet and friendly small hotel just minutes from Rialto bridge. Water took 10 mins to run hot first thing in the morning. Breakfast simple but adequate. Room quite small but there was plenty of storage space.

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
