the hotel is very far from the canal, they close early, you need to walk with your bags from the canal to reach the hotel , but there is small restaurant in front of the hotel, there is many other hotels in front of canal and more clean, over all i did not like this one

Rude staff at check in. Unclean blankets. Plaster falling from the ceilings onto the bed. One bathroom for six, 2 person rooms made for a rather competitive shower situation in the morning. Additionally, shower was in the same room as the only toilet in the building, so you had to wait for people to finish showering to use the restroom...

Great location, right next to the train station. However, the wifi never worked, there was no shower gel provided, the towels were bed sheets, there was no room cleaning (floor, sheets, towels) done during the day despite the heat and the AC was so loud it couldn't be used at night... Compared to the other cheap places we've been in...

Do not stay here! On top of very rude service when we arrived we both go bed bugs on our honeymoon! I first noticed my wife with a few bumps after the first night, then sure enough we both had them all over. Also it's a shared bathroom which in not highlighted in the booking. Stay away!

Worst ever stay experience. Only advantage is proximity to train station. our Check in experience was a nightmare. By the time we reached hotel, no body was there in the front desk (which is in a seperate building in another street). we had kept on calling the phone number with all our luggage and kids... weren't sure off where to...

All I want to say is to avoid this hotel. Still to be fair, I would put positive points about this hotel is first. The location is such that all the attractions are easily approachable, Surrounding is quite and clean, rooms are of good size and were clean. Wifi was ok. Having said that the problems were many. One has...

I reserved for two nights on booking in this terrible place with my husband. First it was difficult to get there and takes a lot of time to reach the place. The receptionist was very rude and impolite! The place was in another place far away from the reception in an old ugly building and scary specially at night! There's...

Our original hotel cancelled our reservation at the last minute and this was arranged for us. We were positively surprised by the location, it seemed very central and it was easy to get everywhere. A nice restaurant in front of the hotel, a supermarket two steps away and nice bars around. Our room was huge and interesting because it was...

Clean room, friendly staff, great location. If you don't want to go to far from hotel there's a good restaurant in front of it and a lovely coffee shop with a fantastic cappuccino and croissants for the sunny mornings. But..there's not always a "but"..but..the room was a little bit too cold over the night.

Nice and clean hotel. Shared bathroom, but that was no problem. Good air-condition. No elevator, so be prepared for stairs. Towels are thin, but does the work. No check in after midnight, and that was almost a problem because of delayed flight. Andrea at the front desk was very helpful with our lost luggage, The women at check out was...

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighbourhood identity.
