Good buget hotel in Venice. This hotel has 6-7 room mostly. Lady maintained this property very well. Lady does not speak English but she will make you understand most of the things which essentially required to make your trip memorable. You will get super market and restaurants near to this place. This property approx 1 km away from Venezia terminus...

The room we stayed in for a night has a private bathroom. It was clean and has a nice feel. Breakfast was free and the hotel owner was very nice. She was able to answer our queries and made sure we understood her even though she doesn't speak English which is very helpful. The hotel is a 12-15mins walk from...

The lady who is responsible does not speak english. Breakfast is just a croissant and a coffee. Hotel is a little bit pricy but very clean. if you need a quiet place just for bed and breakfast, this is the place.

We stayed here four nights at the end of May - my partner, my parents-in-law and I. The hotel is like something from the sixties in the sense that it is very old fashioned but it is comfortable and is situated very close to the railway station. We were greeted by the most wonderful lady who manages it. I speak...

This is a good little hotel - very small, but close to the station, but the best bit is the lady who manages the hotel. She can not speak a word of English, but is so helpful, enthusiastic, dear and sweet. The rooms were small but spotless and the shower good. The street can be very noisy at night as...

Very nice location, just a 10 minute walk from the train station. The area is full of restaurants and shops, but quiet at night. Room was nice and clean, very good for a short stay. However the pillows were a bit flat. The lady taking care of the place was very friendly, and made us feel at home. Breakfast is...

Recently I've taken my mam to Venice for her birthday. To begin with - this isn't exactly a hotel but more of an exclusive B&B. The lady owner is lovely - speaks no word of English, but we managed to communicate, such a lovely person. Hotel is located in Carneggio area of Venice - 10 minutes walk from Rialto Bridge...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
